  • Day 21 Progress Report, Down 5lbs this week

Wow this has been an exciting week. I am down 5lbs from last week. I have managed to eat at one of my favorite restaurants, J. Alexander's and avoid temptation for the most part. I have to admit I did have one tiny bite of a friends carrot cake. I savored it and put my fork away. While it was good, thin is better.
With that said I have made great progress both mentally adjusting to this way of eating. Mentally I have realized I can do this. I have been charting my weight and I can see the cycle my body goes thru adjustiing to the weight loss. I am not as concerned with what the scale says as I am with eating the correct foods, drinking my water and of course not having even a bit of carrot cake the next time. If you follow the diet eat the right foods, exercise and drink your water the weight loss will take care of itself.

    Good luck fellow Atkineers.

Well done Wayne. I had a lot to lose and had similar results to you. By day 21 I had lost about 28lbs. It does start to slow down a bit but the keys to keeping losing are activity and care in food choices and portion sizes. It is real easy to eat extra large portions of protein without realising it. I try to always eat the veges first and that makes me stop when I am full.

Did you take a before photo? If not, do it now and then tke a photo once a month. You will really see the difference - mush better, and more encouraging - way of charting progress than scale watching.

Wayne, I have to applaud you man. 200lbs to lose and you're hitting your stride. I hope in 3 months when I've hit goal, you've lost twice as much as me! We're happy to have you aboard sir!
