  • Carb troubles

    I've been looking through my food diary and I've noticed my carbs are slowly creeping ever downward.

    Today I've only had about 12 or so grams of carbs, mainly because most of my carbs come from leaves (lettuce, rocket,spinach,cress, etc)

    Is it serious to be under like this or is it ok to totter along on under 15 grams of carbs a day?

    I'd post a menu and let the pros tear it apart for you. I know there are a lot of people here that really know their stuff.
    I usually end up around 16-18 most days. A carb for dressing and eggs here and there adds up for me.

      12 is fine.

        If you were consistently staying under 10 you would probably start feeling some effects from it, but if you can stay within 12 and up a day, that's fine as long as you are feeling ok.
        Some folks say they feel better if they eat closer to the 20 carbs allowed though, so play around a little with your foods and don't be shy to boost them up a bit.

          To up your veggies carbs try choosing some of the other ones on the lists instead of only leafy ones.

            Yes, do try some cucumbers sliced (about 1 cup=2.98 Carbs -.833 fiber) and covered with ranch dressing (about 2 tbs = 2 carbs) . This is a low carb snack and put you up 4 carbs...plus it will fill you up.
