check our database Brook posted a french toast recipe that got mentioned on foodTV acouple of yrs back.

Dr Atkins told the DUKE folk when they did the study that porkrinds should be limited to 1 cup according to the ADBB memeber who was in the study.

Be careful with them, they caused me to stall. I love them, but had to give them up. I hope they don't cause you the problem they did me. As 2big would say, happy low carbing!

They're heaven, it's hard to limit to 1 cup sometimes! Definatly check out the recepies (scroll back a few pages, there's tons). Using them to fry my fish is my favorite use.

          Re: Pork Rinds

The real danger with pork rinds is first the sodium (water retention) and second they might also cause to eat when you are not hungry. Keeping those two things in mind and guarding against just mindless snacking, I would say eat away. Just because they are an acceptable food does not mean you can constantly snack on them. If that was the case, I'd eat a package of bacon as my snack food. If you are hungry and need a snack, go right ahead.

I'm so glad I read your post. My husband is fishing this weekend and he'll want me to fry fish and now I know what I can use to fry it with. Thanks!

A whole bag? Yeah, it's back to calorie and water retention issues.

                  Re: Pork Rinds

The good news is those 2 pounds are just a temporary fluctuation not to be too discouraged about. Just as the water can be retained, it can also just as easily be flushed. Help it along by drinking extra water today.

If I eat a bag of them at night, I wake up feeling like this the following morning.

Hi all there is a bag of hard ones called cracklins, you take 1.5 oz and simmer a little til there are semi soft, set aside, cook chopped onions, tomatoes, hot pepper(op), then combine with butter and add 2-3 whipped eggs until done, makes a good meal.....

Pork rinds make you drink more water.......and that's a good thing!
