    No, I don't think so.

I am on Rung 2 of Ongoing Weight Loss though, and I am still in ketosis.

Atkins is a ketogenic diet throughout all it's phases, meaning that we'll always burn fat for fuel and therefore always eat slightly higher fats then protein and carbs. I dont know if that means we will always be in ketosis as we get to maintenance if that makes any sense.

On page 200 of my DANDR 2002 (premaintenance)
while you are on maintenance, in all likelihood you are no longer in ketosis.
However you are probable burning fat rather than storing it - at least some of the time. As you increase your consumption of carbs, your body switches back and forth between lipylosis and glucosis, betweeen burning fat and burning glucose from carbohydrate.
He goes on to talk about recognising the difference between being satiated and stuffed so as not to overeat.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

it is wierd that he writes that about being out of ketosis because Dr Atkins defines ketosis as lipylosis, the burning of fats for fuel, and there he is telling us we will still be doing that and burning carbs for fuel too. Since according to his menues in DANDR for the maintnenance phase show the majority of our fuels will be from fats we better still be in ketosis cause if we are not burning those fats for fuel them we are storing them.

Stix will stop registering for many folk at about 50 net grams of carbs according to Dr Atkins too, but you will still be making ketones and burning fats.
