  • Eating before bedtime

Went to bed with my stomach growling. Had eaten a late time snack of l egg with l oz. cream cheese and SF vanilla. Was still hungry when I was done. Should I have gotten up and eaten something else or should that have been a big enough snack so just suck it up and go to sleep. We are talking about maybe 1am or so.

are you eating enough during the day? since you're on induction i'd say if you're hungry eat! You want to be satisfied and not wake up starving.

      Re: Eating before bedtime

In the beginning it can take time to distinguish hunger from, say, thirst or even boredom/emotional need.
Try having a glass of water and waiting 15 minutes. If you feel you truly are hungry, have a small snack of a protein/fat combo.
The beauty of this diet is that if you are hungry, you can eat. Just choose wisely, and a good rule of thumb is to eat a small portion, because you can always go back and have more later if you really feel you are truly hungry.

I found that in the first few months I was a snacking machine but as time went by I seemed to grow out of that. It took a while for me to be able to read my body correctly.

          Re: Eating before bedtime

I'd try to fix up a big meal or something 3 hours before bed. Sleeping requires very little energy and therefore the food just sits in your stomach until morning - and guess what? You'll still be hungry in the morning :P

Before going to bed at night if your'e going to snack try to keep it light, and drink your water! Often I feel hungry because I'm either thirsty or just bored, like Moochie said. I usually just drink a bottle of water and start reading a good book

Depending on your rung, I have a little bit of SF peanut butter on a spoon and eat it really slowly like a lollipop. It's high fat/high protein and deeelicious.

                sorry, this is extended induction

peanut butter should be for when you are progressing through nuts in OWL.

                  >< I got busted on this one too here. Peanut Butter is a no no, and it's something I sorely miss.

Instead of peanutbutter, trying mixing up a packet of splenda with some cream cheese. Or just eat a slice of cheese. I find that both are fulfilling, but I can gaurentee (sp?) that a 20oz bottle of water will fill your gut right up.
