  • 3 weeks gone...

Well, I've made it a little over 3 weeks with no cheating...but right now I'm stalled. I think a couple factors are probably hindering me. I am not drinking as much water as I should be, and really not eating much. I even went down to 172 on one day, but of course, since I barely ate that wasn't a good thing! I find myself not getting hungry and with 5 children under 8 to care for, I can't find the time to force myself to eat! Plus, this is getting harder as I didn't measure in the beginning, so I'm not sure where I strted, but I haven't lost any inches in over a week. I can't tell any differences really, and I also didn't take pics so it's hard to tell. Hubby says he sees a difference, but if you knew him you wouldn't believe it either! Kinda discouraged. I'm going to continue, slightly under protest, and see if something will happen. First I need to solve my problems of finding enough time to prepare healthy meals for myself! But thanks to everyone, the board has been great!

Cassi, alot of people have what's called a Post Induction Stall. I certainly did. Around my 3-4th week I stalled. That's when I made the decision to move into Ongoing Weight Loss (OWL) and added more vegetables. I've been steadily losing 2 lbs a week (sometimes more, sometimes less) since February. Go to the OWL forum and read the stickies. It might be something you want to do.

As for not eating and drinking...you MUST MUST MUST both eat and drink on this, or you're not doing it right. 64 oz of water MINIMUM. And you must eat every six hours...eat a boiled egg or some celery and cream cheese, but you need to eat something, red bell pepper and cream cheese is good too.

So, the moral of my story (lol) is that you are doing fine, this is something that happens to lots of us. Keep it up and you will be so pleased at the results.

Please be patient!!! Its not a race, the weight will come off. One week is not a stall, a stall is 4 weeks with no inches or pounds lost with no cheating. Have you eaten any ;ow carb food (bars, shakes, etc) because those are famous for slowing down weight loss.
3 weeks isn't that long, I mean how long have you been heavy? I know I have been fat for years, so I don't expect it to be gone in a few weeks. I weigh less than I have in 7 years!! Please just look at the positives, and don't put a time frame on the weight loss. This is a way of life, not a quick fix diet anyway.
I didn't lose for 2 weeks after Induction, then lost 4 pounds!! Hang in there!!
What would we do without it?

      Mini-goal- 149 by June 1st. I can do it!!!

Started this WOL on Feb. 13, 2006.

Frankenfoods- Low Carb Shakes, Bars, Candies.
Sugar Alcohols= Weight loss stalls and cravings!!
      These are BAD for us!!!!

Ummm .... if you think losing 18 lbs is 3 weeks is bad, then please don't throw me into that briar patch Brer Fox ! That's almost 10% of your body weight! Of Course your DH can see a difference. He's telling the truth on this one, not just what you want to hear .

In addition to what the others have said, I would suggest that you:
        (1) stay off the scale every single day. It will make you crazy as it creeps down and then back up depending on hormones, water detention, etc. I have had the same problem in the past and I have cut back to twice a week, once on Monday and then again on Friday.

        (2) It's not too late to measure! I picked up a really cool measureing tape made by Hoechstmass that has a plastic measurement indicator that the tape goes through and a snap so you can measure, unsnap the tape and you can still read your measurement.

Mine has both metric and english measurements.

You are doing great! Don't give up now.
