  • I need to know for tomorrow!

    My mom is the sweetest thing ever! For Easter tomorrow she made a special meal just for hubby and me since we can't eat her traditional easter LASAGNA. (I know, we are different!) Instead she made a dish just for us using eggplant as noodles, sausage, and sauce. Here is the problem...I feel SO bad she went through all that trouble but she used Hunts regular tomato sauce. (like for spagetti) She was trying SO HARD! I can't bear to tell her I can't eat it! Please tell me, is it even possible for me to at least try a small bit to save her from being hurt? I will skip it if I must, but I really do not know what is in the sauce. Any one else able to tell me? Thank you!

    If that link doesn't work, google Hunts Spaghetti Sauce. The serving size is odd, 126 grams, and they have it listed as 10 grams of carbs for that amount.

      If the ingredients are legal, then the food is legal---provided you eat it in the legal amounts.

      Hunts tomato sauce is made from tomatoes. According to the website:
      Hunt's Tomato Sauce is made from all-natural, vine-ripened tomatoes, with salt, spices, and natural flavors for seasoning and contains no added sugar, corn syrup, or other sweeteners. Available in 8oz., 15oz., and 29oz. sizes.

        Personally, I would eat it and enjoy it and be grateful for having someone try so hard to do right by you. Even if it is slightly off on the tomato sauce ingredients, it probably will not hurt you. Would probably hurt you more to NOT eat it, it sounds like!!

          Man I can feel your pain! Sometimes we need to make sacrifices in our lives for the right reason. Yeah losing weight is important but as long as you stick to just the lasagna I think you will be just fine! Drink plenty of water as well!

          Just remember after you eat the lasagna you are still on the Atkins diet and UNDER NO CIRCUMSTNACES ARE YOU TO EAT THE DESSERT Sorry for yelling jsut wanted to make sure you heard me.

            Thank you so much everyone! Now I can eat and not feel guilty! Don't worry! No desert here, it's getting easy to say no to that stuff! I'm enjoying losing way to much!

              I would only eat one serving! Sometimes its hard to stop at one, I know I have portion control issues. It was very sweet of her to think of you.
              What would we do without it?
