    Re: this is killing me

Whenever I get a craving, I usually eat a hard-boiled egg and that takes care of it.

I've heard that 1 tablespoon of peanut butter cures cravings, but I'm addicted to peanut butter and have to stay away from it, otherwise 1 tablespoon will turn into 10!

Another helpful snack is olives...I eat those when I need snack if supper is going to be late.

Or, I add a little cocoa to the cream and splenda and it will satisfy you also.

        We're cheering for you!!

TOM's a BI#@% - no question about it. If you go for salty craving-stoppers (olives; porkskins; cheese) you are likely to get even more bloated with TOM anywhere near. Cocoa is great; but not on induction list (or does it count as a spice???)

Can you handle S/F Jello? Perhaps there's even a 0-carb whipped topping out there.
I'll have to try the pickles cure; but forget the straight Mayo! Bleckkk

Good for you for not caving! I always go with a dill pickle or string cheese also. A spoon full of mayo?.................I'm gagging just thinking about that one!

I think Cocoa is allowed on Induction (as a spice) and SF Jell-O is not due to the Aspartame. Dr. A recommends Splenda and Sweet N Low instead. (I don't have the book here at work, but this is what I remember.) Whipped topping has sugar in the ingredients and would be a no-no, but you can use heavy whipping cream and whip it up yourself for topping.

I don't see anything wrong with Aspartame, after your Induction. I did Atkins before cold turkey, NO Cheating, just the basics, but a few times I did drink a serving of diet 7UP w/Splenda. I went back to the sugar and now trying to lose again. I am losing and I'm eating the "forbidden" Aspartame, and drinking it in my diet coke too. It seemed to me that Splenda made me crave, and awful too. To me its better to eat sugar-free/very low *net* carbs/no trans fat and cure your lil craving than to go off.

It may not be the best option because of the sweeteners but when I crave sweets I have a diet coke. Might help?

I think land-o-lakes makes splenda whipped cream...

oh and I used to have diet soda with some cream and one of those sugar-free syrups.. it was a great float, but i ended up abusing it...
