  • Question: Most My Weight Loss ....

I was thinking about the things ive been eating the past few months.... and Ive had amazing success (65 lbs lost) to date....

but my concern is, ive lost most of this by eating alot of meats.... beef, turkey, chicken, eggs, tuna, i eat lettuce and cheese....
occasional cauliflower, and i eat alfalfa sprouts

those are some of the foods i eat most often....... now my question is.

I didnt loose all this weight by eating alot of veggies.... i did it by eating alot of meats...

now im just worried if i start adding veggies into my diet then im going to gain weight because I have been eating mostly meats and doing so well w/weight loss
( only 30 more lbs til goal)

    wow im confused and worried

Most likely, you won't start gaining weight adding in veggies at the beginning.

As you move onto OWL and Premaintenance, you start adding in Carbs in small amounts. You start with veggies, and work your way up the "rungs" of the ladder. As you add carbs, you'll gain less and less, until you find that level where you start gaining again. You throttle it back abit, and this is your Critical Carbohydrate Level. Above this, you stall or gain. Below, you maintain or lose.

It is different for everyone. Somepeople it might be only 25 or 30g of carbs a day. For others it might be 45 or 50. You have to find this out for yourself, by following OWL properly.

Veggies are a neccessity. Aside from fiber and the feeling of fullness they add, they have nutrient and vitamins you *need*. You really should be having them in your menu, even during Induction. At least half, if not most, of your carbs *should* be coming from vegetables in Induction. And during OWL, you'll start addming more.

Bottom line is that everyone is different, and you have to find this threshold for yourself. Even if you're one of the highly resistant type, you should be able to add a few cups of good veggies in without much problem at all.
