  • How long to stay on extended induction?

I have been on induction since March 27th. Last week I seemed to be stalled, but it's moving again and I've lost 17lbs (woo hoo!!!) At the moment I'm doing OK on induction...not too terribly bored, although I do miss fruit and stone ground oats. The question is, how long should I stay on the extended induction before going on to OWL? I now weigh 208 and my goal is 140. Is there a down side to staying on extended induction as long as possible??? Is there an up side to moving to OWL?? Opinions please.

think of Atkins WOE as building a house. induction is your foundation. You dug it and built it very carefully with top grade materials from the acceptable foods lists and all that water eating in the propper ratios to make your "concrete the strongest possible. you let it cure just the right amount of time and then you begin work on the framing, OWL. You are going to need lots of time in the great food experiment of OWL testing the different timbers ( foods in each rung) for any imperfections with your metabolism so your walls are strong and will withstand a life time of food assults from the high carb food insdustry. premaintnenance is the roofing with the larger ( more carbs on a rung) trusses. You will also need time to evaluater and practice the dangerous job of roofing your house as the appetite suppresion of induction and early OWL will disapate as you get closer to your CCLM. It is the time spent practicing feeding only hunger and knowing what foods trigger us and how to quickly recognize and treat that triggering that keeps us on plan in maintnenacne when we move in our strong sturdy house of Atkins eating. If you spend all your time on the founfation the house will collaspe down around you when you move in as a goalie and you will regain your pounds.

So since you are both the owner and builder take the time to build a very strong house of Atkins with quality workmanship and materials.
