    Re: does cheese stall????

Cheese displays in stores and restaurants always stall me...

But eating it doesn't seem to matter so long as it isn't too much. Usually the natural sugar amounts to about 1g/oz or per TBS if a cream cheese spread.

Don't forget you can always try the Fat Fast too for a few days if you're stalled out...if you can't get back on track with that, then I'd say there's probably something else causing you to stall, like others suggested, maybe an allergy or intolerance to something.
        1st Week Induction Done - Began January 8, 2007

2nd Week Induction Goal - Closely monitor water intake, remember to contact doctor for appointment for self and daughter for early March

actually you should never try the fat fast for a stall it is only for the metabolically resistant folk. if we are stalls then we need to follow Dr Atkins advice for the phase we are in after you have eliminated medical reason, carb creep, and changes in life style ( you aren't exercising like before for example).

Thanks for clearing up the sugar issue. That has always confused me.

So here is the question... what about foods that say 0G of sugar, but have sugar listed in the ingredients... either regularly, or with a message saying less than x% of the following: sugar.

Also, as you move on in the diet, is a few grams of sugar acceptable? I know those ceaser salads you get at UNOS have 6 grams of sugar.

              Re: does cheese stall????

I think if you're sticking to straight induction by the book, you should oooooonly have what's on the list: so sugar would never be allowed on induction

however, what you put in your mouth becomes your decision. later on you might decide that you will incorporate a little sugar, just be warned, you're not following the plan.

and it is definitely crucial that you stick very strictly to the rules for the 1st 2 weeks.

actually you are confused about sugars you don't equate the sugar on the label with the sugar in the nutritional info area. that is all the simple carbohydrates in the fod be they natural sugars in the veggies or add sugars. the 6 grams in the sald is the total of all in the dressing and the veggies no just 6 added sugar gram. the rest of the carbohydrates are either fiber or complex carbohydrates. originally the break out was to help diabetics deal with the blood sugar effect the food would have on them as simple sugars reacted faster then complex ones do so a food with 12 simple would need more meds to counter then a food with 12 complex carbs.
