  • Fat sources while in Thailand?

    Good news and bad news.

The good news is that I'm in Thailand and the food is GREAT. Lots of low carb food choices. Tons of great seafood.

The BAD news is that I need to find more fat sources.

My eggs and mayo don't always make the cut.

Maybe more butter? The problem is when I order crab or prawns thhey don't often come witih fat.

    Any ideas?

Also..... One thing I notice about thailand is that the food here is VERY different than thai food you can buy in the US. Its MUCH better. I'm going to try to make some atkins friendly recipes and I'll post them to the forum.

I already have some GREAT ideas.

Coconut based stuff should pack in FAT FAT FAT!

Also, I know in India you can get ghee (clarified butter) and lots of sauces and curries are LOADED with it..... can you get that in Thailand?

    The food sounds yum!!!

      Hi
I remember never being able to find cheese in thailand... at least you can't have it and it won't make you stall...

I was trying to remember what i ate, but you're right... not much fat... the greasiest I can think of is a banana pancake! of course, that won't work...

hmmmm.... we used to eat a lot of noname...but it was breaded...

sorry, I guess I wasn't much help... oh, and if you're on induction you still want to stay away from coconut...

in any case, I sure wish I was there, it's such an amazing place!

I used to eat a lot of canned sardines! in Oil!
        that should help

beware... count the number of peppers pictured on the can... I once bought the 3 pepper kind, and it was not fun
