Induction is 14 days, you may extend that if you have a large amount of weight to lose. You should definetly move onto OWL. You still will lose weight and enjoy eating different foods.

It is importort for you to figure out your critical carb level and the only way to do that is on owl.

I am sure a moderator/support team member will be here with more detailed information..

You should move to OWL not only because you are so close to your goal, but also because is necessary for you to know your critical carb level for weight loss. Without that number most likely it will be hard to mantain the weight once you achieve your goal

in theory you could stay all the way to goal BUT Dr Atkins advises against that be cause you need to learn how to handle foods which spike your blood sugar or your body can't metabolis without spikeing your bloos sugar and giving you cravings while you have pounds to lose and are in the appetite suppression stage of Atkins. Many new to Atkins folk don't realize that lovely deep ketosis of induction's appetite suppression will vaporize as you get closer to your CCLM and it is the eating habits and ability to control yourself through corrective measures after gettting those spikes that keep you a goalie in control of your WOE.

Think of Atkins WOE as a house induction is your foundation so build it strond OWL is the framing with the food rungs the types of timbers you can use to build your house strong. take time to check out those timbers for any flaws. premaintenance is the roofing again you want to carefully check for flaws in material and use skilled craftmanship applying it. then you move in and do the finishing work on your house at goal. you don't want to be one of those 9 losers who will regain their weight do you when their diet house crashes down around them? Be the 1 out of 10 folk who lose weight that sticks. Dr Atkins says the folk that workl all 4 phases of Atkins are the ones who are the most successful goalies on his program.

I'm sure you have seen the posts in STAC of the multi time atkineers who got to goal regained and are back. don't be one of them cause you weerren't prepaered when you arrived.

Chapter 13 has a test you take answers will tell you when it is time to move to OWL many extended inductees lose better in OWL too check out the OWL posts and see. the slow down is from the initial 14 day weight loss rate which even exteneded inductees experience.

Dr Atkins sayds when you have 5-10 pounds left you have to move to premaintenance so you are about there to move to OWL and add back those 5 more net carbs of those yummy induction veggies.

        Happy low carbing
