  • Don't be afraid of OWL

Just wanted to pop in and invite some of you long termers to the OWL forum. It's a great way to go....REALLY opens up your eating habits, teaches you how to eat for the rest of your life...and you STILL lose! I have stayed consisent at 1.5-2 lbs/week, which as you know is a great and healthy rate, added rung 1 for 4 weeks but the rest for just one.

    Come join us!!!
What is it, a RACE? It's coming off, right????

That is soooo true 2big, and I think most people don't see that! I'd rather lose 1-2lbs per week on OWL having more variety in my diet than lose that same 1-2 lbs beating my boring head against the wall in extended induction.

I've even had a 5lb loss on OWL!!! WOOHOO

Re: Don't be afraid of OWL

I have had a goal of completing a month of induction, which I'll have met tomorrow, so I've been thinking about whether I should stick with an extended induction or go to OWL. I've finally made up my mind and am going to go to OWL this coming Tuesday! We'll see how it goes and if I need to, I know I can always drop back down to induction level for a while. The past two weeks have been really stressful for me with an exhusband problem and no one to talk to about it, so I've been fighting daily to stick to my 20 grams of carbs a day. I've not been wanting to have the wrong foods, just wanting more of my veggies, so I'm going to do this mostly to give myself permission to relax a little bit and have those few extra grams a day. It'll be one less thing to stress over for a little while, I hope.
                  1st Week Induction Done - Began January 8, 2007

2nd Week Induction Goal - Closely monitor water intake, remember to contact doctor for appointment for self and daughter for early March

Judy, those reasons are EXACTLY why you should move into OWL. Congratulations! If you have questions...feel free to ask!! YAY!!
