You see up in the corner of your post where it shows that you are the #1 post in this thread? Right beside it is a scale that allows you to give the poster a favorable 'rep' or comment when you click on it. It really adds up to a whole lot of nothing except for it feels really nice to see that your post was really helpful or appreciated! In your User CP, at the bottom you will see where people have left comments and reps about your posts and also which posts they where specifically for. Just a nice touch!Jennifer

you can't give negative reps on ADBB
the grey means the person giving you a rep doesn't have enough reps themselves to score you any points.
those with lots of boxes give you lots of points when they rep you and those with few boxes rep you very little points after you get about 100 points you get a green box on your screen when you get to about 650 you get the other color green boxes. all those points plus the amount of time and how many posts you have made are factored into an equation and we are assigned a rep power number. But non of it gets us any special priviliges or anything. not even more of those smilies per post grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrby the book atkinseer

Man, I was wondering about all the green boxes myself. Like, "No s_it Sherlock, what was your first clue?" I didn't know at all what they meant. I was thinking that it meant Repost power or something. Damn, felt like I was failing. Now that I see peeps wrote stuff to me, I feel like a heel that I did not see it before.

yeah, I just discovered them recently myself, and I felt like a dork... I'm such a glutton for praise that I felt bad that I couldnt go back and read the old comments from people
in any case, I've been trying to be a good scout lately and remember to give props where they're due... it's so nice to feel appreciated for something!Comment

I was wondering the same exact thing. It was a pleasant suprise to go find the positive feedback waiting for me that I had no clue I even had!
I've also noticed the post counts for some people are REALLY high. Does this forum not prune or get rid of older threads?Status: Rockin' OWL
