I have to be stalled... no inches lost for > 2 weeks....

  • I have to be stalled... no inches lost for > 2 weeks....

    OK. I'm seriously getting discouraged here.

    I've been stuck at a 34" waist for > 2 weeks now. Probably 3 weeks. I'm trying to get down to a 32" waist and I probably need to loose 10-15 more pounds.

    I'm pretty sure I don't have any hidden carbs and I'm on extended induction.

    A few thoughts:

    1. I'm not jogging... Atkins requires exercise but on my vacation I didn't have access to a proper gym. I was loosing fine for WEEKs but maybe this has caught up to me. I plan on jogging again as soon as I get back to the US...

    2. I moved on from extended induction to an "extended ongoing weight loss" where I allowed myself foods from rungs 1-3... This didn't seem to stall me for a long time and I lost 2-3 inches while in this phase.

    3. I'm drinking coffee with caffeine. Again this didn't seem to stall me and I lost inches but maybe its caught up to me.

    What are the odds that this is just a temporary pause while my body catches up? Certainly adding jogging again will really help and stopping the coffee is probably a good idea.

    Any other thoughts? Could eating foods from rungs 1-3 have kicked me out of induction? Should I try to go into induction again when I get back to the US.

    Ug. frustrated :-/

    first take a deep breath

    you are not stalled as stalls are defined by Dr Atkins as 4 weeks of no inches nor pounds lost. Weight loss isn't a linear thing nor is isnches lost proportional to the entire body some times you will lose in other body areas and not in your waist only. have you done youe measurements ofr your other body parts like they do for the 6 week exercise challenge inches lost?

    it is hard to understand exactly what you are saying. Are you saying you went on vacation and took a vacation from the exercise part of your Atkins if so then you are not doing Atkinds now and are experiencing what Dr Atkins decribes as a lifestyle change. This will slow your fuekl burning resulting in a slwoing of your shrinking and will lower your tolerance for carbs.
    There must be some way to exercise while you are on vacation. you can do steps inside buildings walk beaches or trails or even shopping malls, jog in the pool so no place to workout isn't an excuse.

    Next what you are doing is called modified OWL many folk have done that and I think you are asking about being out of ketosis not out of induction. Your metabolism will tell you if you are in or out of ketosis. Do you have the physical symptoms of ketossi? I had no issues with adding more veggies and an ounce of nuts staying under 20 net carbs and dropping weight douring my 6.5 months doing it.

    Not2late had mulitple issues with rung 2 foods and brands of foods giving her blood sugar issues. Some folk have issues with rung 3 nuts. So you could be having issues witht he foods but with all the changes you have made it is tough to say what is causing your issues in inches lost hesitiation period right now.

    just get your exercise going making one change at a time and see what happenes next.

      I think your Body is Most likely in a Pause of weight loss. I ahve gone up to and Over 6 weks of no inches or weight loss only to have a huge loss after my bodies pause. Weight loss is huge thing for the body it doesn't like to give up the fat stroes, you could very well be losing inches in other areas of your body just not your waist. I lose in different spots at different times and sometimes I won't lose in one spot for Months.

      Keep up with it and the loss will come, Patience is a HUGE lesson I have learned with my Body and weight loss.

        Yes..... I am measuring.... I'm measuring on my waist, abdomen, and legs. No measureable lost for >2 weeks now.

        I think the main thing is going to be to add exercise again. Being on vacation didn't help a lot but thats not excuse. I should be trying to add something...

        Anyway... no time like the present. Time to re-commit and take up exercise...
