Just wondering if there is such a thing as too much water with this diet? My weightloss has slowed quite a bit, so I'm just trying to figure it out!! I've done everything strictly and legally, yet only seem to be losing 0.5lbs/day at the most.

It will slow from the initial jump you normally get with induction. You are still losing about 3 lbs a week. That's 12 lbs a month! I'd strangle a Keebler elf to lose that much now!! If I am lucky, LUCKY mind you, I will lose 1 lb a week.
But to address your question, how much water are you drinking? The rule of thumb is 64 oz plus 8 oz for every 25 lbs you need to lose. That'd put you at roughly 80 oz a day.
As far as too much water? I would think it would have to be alot of water to be too much water. Maybe 2Big will come and chime in about the possibility of Too much water.

Thank you for your reply! To be honest, I'm not sure *exactly* how much water I'm drinking, but it is at least 120oz/day. I feel like I may be losing inches, but (tsk, tsk) I have not taken any measurements... I am so very anxious to lose all this weight!!! I just want to make sure I'm doing it exactly right!
Do you think that it is possible to meet a mini goal of 30 more pounds lost by the end of August? Any suggestions to make this happen?

30 more lbs by the end of August? I don't want to be a bummer, but personally, I don't think so, but in this world I suppose anything is possible. Losing that much weight that quickly isn't all that healthy though. Atkins isn't a crash diet to lose alot of weight over night. It is a way to learn how your body works, what effects it and why. That's why so many people stay strictly with the book. The long term benefits by going step by step will be worth more to you when you end up with weightloss AND the knowledge on how to keep it off. It's a total bummer to lose 50 lbs one year only to have to lose it again 2 years down the road. And it can be alot more difficult for some the next go round.
Take a minute and appreciate what you have accomplished so far.
Give yourself a good pat on the back and keep at it. The weight will come off at the rate it is supposed to. It may be quick or it may be slower than you want. But it will happen with time, patience and perseverence. Good health and a longer life is worth the fight and the wait!
You are doing great so far!! You might consider starting the OWL rungs. I know it can be scary, I was scared of them, but when I started, it broke my stall that had happened on extended induction.
Oh and TAKE YOUR MEASUREMENTS!!!
LOL You will wish you had them on hand next month if you don't!!

it is possible but to be fatal you'd need to drinka large amount very fast over a very short period of time.
it is possible to wash your water soluble vits and minerals out and if you are not replacing them with supplements or wise healthy food choices from the acceptable foods lists then you can have problems.by the book atkinseer
