I have noticed in the last several days that I am fine all day long until my snack after dinner which is sweet. I could have s/f jello, or tea with splenda, or anything sweetened, I feel like I have eaten an entire 10 lb bag of sugar or something. I'm lightheaded and this is the only time of the day that I feel really awful. Also I have to eat someting salty after I eat someting sweet because I start craving salt, and the sweet taste stays in my mouth for the rest of the night. Does anyone know what this is all about?

Re: What is going on?
It sounds like you are experiencing the 'cephalic response' that not2late talks about in this sticky thread in the 14-day induction forum http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ead.php?t=5922
Why not fix yourself a non-sweet snack instead?
This is why the ADBB moderators and old-timers strongly advise everyone to kill that sweet tooth during Induction. Starve that sweet tooth and you'll be in control of the food, rather than the food be in control of you.Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Re: What is going on?
yep if your body thinks it is getting sugar it prepares for sugar and can start releasing insulin which will act on the already low to normal sugar level dropping it even lower making you need more fuel based on your blood sugar levels so the brain says eat sweets cause the body needs some fuel.
As too the taste in your mouth brush your teeth or rinse with mouthwash and the taste will be gone.by the book atkinseer

Re: What is going on?
That is pretty much the craziest thing I've ever heard, but I will totally cut out the sweets because I've been feeling so good and who wants to eat someting to make them feel crappy? It totally expalins the main reason I was overweight to begin with! I could always control myself, except when it came to sugar. Thanks so much guys!!
