  • Is it bad to keep restarting this diet?

The first time that I did this diet last year I shedded pounds easily.

This time I am having a much harder time. My weight loss stalled (along with stall in inches lost) for about 3 weeks - how frustrating. I will be putting away the scale tonight.

So a friend of mine said ... break the diet for a day and it will help you... you will lose as soon as you get back on it.

Sunday I cheated... I had icecream and 1 slice of pizza. I felt like crap after cheating. Started back yesterday morning and did good all day this morning I got an urge to go to Hardees and satisfy my craving for a tea and cinnamon raisin biscuit. So I cheated again, purposely this time out of what felt like aggrivation.

So I will be starting back over again this afternoon.

Is this bad to keep re-starting? I know cheating is bad and I feel like crap for doing it. But I swear I think this morning was it because of the way I have mentally felt. I feel like I did 1 mo. of this diet for nothing because I cheated.

    HELP!

Hello ams! well i'd have to say you aren't doing your body any favors by starting and stopping! It gets used to eating healthy then boom, you've got to restart all over again. I see you have a wedding coming in October, that's wonderful! So now is the time to get serious, how badly do you want it (the weight loss)? I know it's tempting to cheat but for some people it's really easy to cheat again and again after the fact and never really get back to the plan. Stay motivated and stick to atkins. Start some excersise, daily if possible! Look at the recipes on this sight, i'd suggest mock danish, it helped me and dh to get through some tough times on induction. And i'd dare say, stick to the plan and your cravings will disappear.
The weight will come off, don't give up!
and congrats on your upcoming wedding!

what is really bad is to keep punishing your self by feeling bad about yourself and your eating...you have to feel good enough to appreciate yourself and who you are and the food you put into your body before you can really do something that will last forever ...hope this makes sense to you ..it took a long time for it to click for me ..you have to be happy with yourself right now!!! then you will do things to help yourself stay happy ...like eating lots of good healthy and wonderful tasting foods good luck to you

Thanks guys! I have been good today....ever since breakfast and have plans to go home and workout again.

However, I know I will be cheating Saturday because it's my wedding shower. Mom told me it would be rude if I didn't eat anything at my shower. So I'm sure I'll grab a small slice of cake. But right back to it afterwards.

Thanks for the inspiration... it's a rough world... full of pressures and cravings!

It is much more rude for your mother to tell you what you should/should not eat!!! Ifyou must, grab the cake, throw it away and tell whoever made it how delish it was! If it was storebought, I wouldn't even pretend. You will have MUCH more interesting things to focus on at your own shower!!!

          Congrats by the way.

I agree with Msnicksmom (it would be rude not to ). It's your shower, so it's only appropriate they respect your way of eating. The way I look at it would they expect an alcoholic to drink at a Bachelorette or Bachelor's party? You have to make up your mind for yourself what is acceptable. There are obviously a lot of people here who are strict by the bookers and many that are not. For me, the momentary taste would not be worth the bad feelings or workout pain afterwards. But to your question, is it bad to keep going back to eating healthy? The simple easy answer is no. It is always best to go back to eating good things like meat, cheese, vegetables rather than continue to eat junk food.
