Like I just ate a chicken breast, and I am full. My worry is that I won't get enough calories throughout the day and just end up hurting myself. What should I do, and about how many calories should I eat? I know my BMR is almost 3,000, so how many calories do I eat?

Re: I get full a lot quicker now...
You need to only eat until you feel comfortable, not full, but you do need to make sure you get a balanced meal every time to include protein, carbs and fat. So if you are full with one chicken breast, eat only a half and then a small salad with some fat dressing. Remember if you get hungry later you can always add a snack.

Re: I get full a lot quicker now...
I went through the same thing. It does get better.
I found that what I had to do was 1) eat my vegetables FIRST. That way I get them in...they are so important for fiber and vitamins/nutrients. If I get full before I finish all my protein, that's okay, at least I got all my veggies in. 2) If you move into rung1 of OWL, and ADD MORE VEGGIES then that deep deep appetite suppression will lighten up just a little so that you aren't feeling sick/nauseous when you do eat. I still didn't want to binge or snack, but I wasn't feeling sick at the thought of food.
I'm not sure if this happens to everyone, but its what happened to me. Give it a try and see how it goes.~Joy

Re: I get full a lot quicker now...
EAt to feed your hunger, not your habit. Your body won't let you starve.
If you pay close attention to what's happening, you'll find that when your activity level is high, your appetite will be slightly increased. When your activity level is lower, so will your appetite.
This is how you should be eating---only enough to fulfill your daily energy requirement. Many of us are fat because we are over-eaters. So re-learning to eat appropriate amounts of food for our bodies' energy needs is very important, especially since our activity levels change from day to day.

I try to watch my calories, I mean I don't count em, but u know....I hope its not messing up my weight loss. It seems like its goin steady....has anyone just not even felt like eating....

Re: I get full a lot quicker now...
If you have read DANDR, you understand how it works. If you haven't read DANDR, you'll know that not following the program as Dr. Atkins wrote will not bring results, plain and simple. In order to get the right combination of carbs, fats and protein, you have to eat the proper percentage of calories in each of the categories. Think of converting from a carb burning to a fat burning metabolism as a chemical reaction. Without the proper amounts, don't expect much.
Too many people have tried their own version of Atkins and when it doesn't work, they blame Atkins. Follow Atkins and see what happens.
When you are alone in your head, you are in a bad neighborhood.
