  • Some encouragement needed...

Hey Everyone.. how's it going? Okay.. tomorrow is my 14th day of induction and I had lost about 13 pounds.. which is SO awesome, and I'm already almost down a whole size in pants and I am down a size in shirts now. The thing is that, I hit a slump about 4 days ago and I gained 3 lbs back.. I'm still doing tae bo and going to curves.. I can see my belly/sides shrinking, but I seem to be going back and forth between 3 pounds and it's driving me insane.. I'm so getting discouraged, but mostly just mad.. gr! Just in need for some encouragement here guys.. you guys are so awesome, that I know it will help my mental state. I hit my mini goal once and bounced off of it throughout the day, and now i'm not close hardly at all.. Anyways.. is this normal maybe? Maybe i need to make sure I'm drinking PLENTY of water. I did stop eating 2 eggs for breakfast, too.. and had something different. NOt having the eggs all day might affect it?
    Thanks everyone
    Sara

I am in the same situation. I am on my 4th week. I lost 15 pound as of last Tuesday and now I have not lost a pound in the last week. I keep going up and down two pounds so I am now only down 13 pounds and my ketone strips show I am in ketosis. Frustrating but I refuse to give up.

ok put this into perspective! 13 lbs and you have only done this for 2 weeks? you have your life to do this ...you must know the first bit of wt you loose is water and you will fluctuate.....plan on 2 lbs a week max from now on give or take...and try to look at this as something that will last a lifetime not a quick fix to take pounds off ..

      good luck

I agree with Heidi 100% You have to put it in perspective.

Also, it is so very common that people have a 'pause' during their 3rd and 4th week. Many of them get frustrated and cheat or quit or whatever. DO NOT FALL VICTIM TO THIS! Your body is taking a little time to adjust to the changes you've made. It's NORMAL. Take this time to go ahead and move into OWL rung 1 by adding ONE CUP OF VEGETABLES from the 'other food' list. This usually equals the 5 net carbs. You can also measure it out for 5 net carbs. This will give you variety and may even be enough to kick start you back into losing weight. I found that it did for me.

Because you are doing a lot of exercise, you're most likely making huge changes in your muscles. This is reflected on the scales too...which is okay. You want the changes in your inches right? Who cares what the scale says as long as you are SHRINKING Woohoo! Keep in mind when you stress your muscles they'll hold onto water as a defense mechanism. It will eventually release and you'll get a whoosh on the scale.

I agree with Heidi and Joy! Hang in there, hun... that scale WILL keep going down. You are exercising and your body is adjusting. Maybe try putting the scale away for a few days and check back in with it at the end of the week! I know it is hard, but trust me, it will help! I had the same thing happen to me at the end of my 2 weeks. I put the scale away and checked at the end of the week and surprise - another 3 pounds lost! Woo hoo! Keep up the good work - you are doing great!

            I agree with the others!!
After the first few weeks I'd lose a few lbs, stay there or even gain a little then drop... it was an endless cycle, but the inches continued to slide off so it was no big deal... it was a little discouraging at times though.
I wish that would happen now, I've been stuck around the same weight for months... but I know that if I just keep going eventually my body will adjust and I'll start to lose again.
            Good luck and keep going!!!

I agree with the others. They have given awesome advice! Hang in there. I have seen your pictures and you are making wonderful progress. Don't let a small set back cause you to be frustrated. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't even consider it a set back. Any other eating plan you can expect to lose 1 to 2 pounds per week, but you have lost 13 pounds. This is the reason that they say you should not weight until your 14 days are up. (I have a scale problem too ). Just think, if you wouldn't have weighed, you would have simply seen that you had lost 10 pounds or 13 pounds, not the in the middle ups and downs. However you want to look at it, you are doing great!!!! Keep up the hard work

                Re: Some encouragement needed...

My advice is to stay off the scales. Once a month is plenty, and perferably about 5-6 days after that time of month. Scales going up and down psyched me out and I failed. Now, I don't bother until that week roles around. Good luck to you.
