  • Curves??

I am going to Curves tonight to see what all they have to offer. I am extremely excited about it.

Does anyone belong to this place? What do you think of it? How are your results with it?

    Thanks for all responses,

    Kelly

    Re: Curves??

Woohooo!!! Another curves member to be maybe! I belong to Curves.. in fact my mom and I both do. I LOVE thier program. I love how all the machines are hydrolic, instead of weights. You can work at your own resistance. If it's too easy for you work the machine shorter and faster. I absolutely love the weigh/measure days.. not sure if all curves do this, but I get a whole sheet printed out of my progress since I first joined, BMI, weightloss, inches lost or gained (ew) in upper arm, waist, abdomen, hips, and thighs. Since I joined curves, about 4 months ago, I've lost 17 inches and almost 16 lbs. I have to have my curves fix everyday. My mom and I go together Mon-Sat. Each machine is only 30 seconds, then you have a freestyle inbetween them where you can do whatever you want, ranging from walking in place to tae bo moves.. there's a wide variety. I love my curves.. Hope you join and like urs, too!!

      Re: Curves??

I have membership but am cancelling it. I certainly don't have anything against them - it was fun for a little while and I can see why it would motivate some people, but it bored me very quickly. I would never have gone if it hadn't been for my friend who joined with me. But now both of us are switching membership to the local gym. We'll be paying the same amount and can vary the workout much more. In fact, I'm going to be paying the same amount for my whole family to have membership whereas I was the only one who could go to Curves. The Curves workout was better than not working out at all, but I don't think it is nearly as effective as my other workouts I'm now doing at the gym.

That's too bad that Curves didn't work out for you.. I know sometimes I can get bored, but I just like it because it's a mix between cardio, lifting weights, toning, and strengthening. Not for everyone, but definitely a plus to just get movin'. You are not supposed to ONLY do curves.. switch it up w/ maybe a walk or some other form of exercise throughout the week. I do tae bo and curves. Well .. hope you find something that works for you

          Re: Curves??

My infamous quote. Curves works if you work it! For me Curves fit my schedule. Thirty minutes and I was done. Being a working Mom it was perfect. It is a personal preference. But for me it was a very wise choice. I credit this place and Curves for where I am today. And, I am now a fitness instructor at Curves and run alot of the weight loss groups there. You get out of Curves (and any other program) EXACTLY what you put in to it!

            Re: Curves??

I went to Curves lastnight to check it out and it all seemed great, however it didn't have any ellipticals or treadmills, which I really like to do as well as the other workouts. So I stopped up to another place in town called Shapes - lol, and they had the same circuit as Curves did, but they also had the ellipticals and treadmills as well as classes like tao bo and kick boxing and they had a Sauna and shower, so I think that I will be going there. I am excited and hope my motivation stays with my through this. I believe that it will. Thank you for all of your responses.
