  • what I'm I doing wrong

    I eat nothing but meat
    have only 2 splenda's a day
    do exercise

    I don't understand losing only 2 pounds for almost 3 weeks...

    It is kind of depressing...

    Is calories important like should I be reaching a certain amount...

    /sigh

    You eat nothing but meat? No cheese, no eggs..most importantly..no veggies?? That's probably what's causing the problem. You need 3 cups of veggies a day. Are you drinking enough water? Have you read DANDR 2002? I know people hate when we ask this question, but there's very important information in there and Dr. Atkins sets out everything you need to know to do this way of eating successfully. But I don't know if you are eating nothing but meat by choice or if it's because you aren't aware that you need your veggies.

      sorry about that... yes I have my veggies spinach leafs about 2 cups... didn't add that

      also drinking my water... and have eggs... little cheese as possible

      though the last 2 days I been kind of down. Didn't eat anything one day and didn't get my water in yesterday.

      about 3 days ago I cleaned up my room and switched beds up and down a stairs alot.. My feet blew up like balloons... wonder if that means something.

      Probably because of my weight but I never had that big of a deal and weighed more a month or so ago.

        You know what I just read a bunch of post. The only thing I'm doing wrong is counting on a scale and not on what my body feels like.

        I'd still like suggestions if any. But I need to start measuring myself. I know the pants I am wearing now didn't button before I started atkins. I need to be proud of that.

        Praise the good and forget the bad! Just keep going.

        AND more exercise!!!

          don't worry there are many of us who wanted the fat gone yesterday here.
          one thing you should do is move to OWL the added vegies are packed with micronutrients we need to help keep our bodies functioning at maximum capasicty. When we get defeicient in vits and minerals our bodies slow daow as the missing chems and body funtions needed ithem don't get done.

            What are you putting the Splenda on? The meat? And what kind of meat? You can get 8 carbs from a hotdog if you're not careful.

              I saw somewhere that you eat a lot of processed hotdogs; not many veg and low fat... might want to put stuff in fitday.

                Or, it might be that hesitation time that happens to a lot of us. Its testing us to see how really committed we really are.
                Have you tried on a pair of tight jeans lately? Thats always fun.
                Its time to forget about the scales and do something fun for yourself. How about going to see Snakes on a Plane? Or call a friend and go out. Or find a great book to curl up with. This is a wierdest diet, you can go weeks without losing and then one day you jump on the scales and you've dropped 5 pounds and the next week you drop 5 more, I know it happened to me.
                Scales are evil so don't pay much attention to them, they often lie.

                  weight loss will differ from person to person. how often do you eat in a day? how much at each sitting? do you snack often? how much water are you drinking? what are your meals like? weight loss doesn't happen overnight, it takes a while sometimes. if you are consistent with the induction rules you should be fine and should be seeing weight loss. otherwise you might need to tweak your menu and make better choices, drink more water, exercise longer just to see weight loss.

                    It just sounds like you're eating completely wrong. Unless I'm missing something I think it's that simple.

                      well thanks everyone...

                      I've been drowning myself in water... (drinking that is) got up and did some sort of exercise...

                      Hotdogs have less then 1 carb in them.... I eat them plain.. I try to not add salt because high sodium intake can make you retain water(I retain water easy). So I have cut down on doing that.

                      I haven't been taking my vitamin... /sigh
                      I realised that just now that I have forgot to take it for almost a week now. So I'm gonna run and take that now.

                      I'll pick up some eggs and a few things to put into it.
                      Try to shake it up abit.



                      Again thanks everyone...

                      Processed food isn't the best to be eating all the time I know.

                      I eat like 5-6 small things through out the day.

                        Jellybee, why not posta day's menu for review in the "review my menu" thread? Include quantities and brands and condiments, where applicable. Too much meat is not good, as the body can use it to make extra carbs.

                        Also, your feet probably swelled (plus you probably held extra water) from overdoing the exercise that day. When you overexert, you damage muscle fibers. While it's good in the long run, in can cause water retention in the muscles while they repair and strengthen.
