  • had to work a waffle station tonight

Yes, part of the job. We have a large convention going on and we had a late night breakfast buffet going. I was lucky enough to work the station doing waffles.
    OMG the aroma....
    the chocolate chips...
    the M&M's.....
    The Strawberries.....
    The whipped cream....
    The Maple syrup.....

    I didn't eat a bite.
    just sipped a diet coke...

Bad news is I have to work it 4 more nights.

Lucky I am a savory eater, not a sweets nut. If I was working a pasta station I would be dying.
"I'm big boned" ...Um, nobody has bones that big....

Buffalo wings, not just for breakfast anymore.

Hey baby, how do you like bald fat guys with no money?

Re: had to work a waffle station tonight

this is what i have to deal with everyday, people and their high carb foods. i don't serve food, i just have a lot of temptation around me even though i don't give in. i feel guilty because i carry stuff like muffin and pop tarts from the cafeteria and stock up the refridgerator at work with it. being exposed to food i can't eat actually makes me stronger because i will myself to not eat any of it. when i do go through and not eat any of the bad stuff i feel that much better, giving in makes me feel like a failure. just think of serving food as a way to strenghten your will power, as long as you don't give in you can become stronger against temptation.

I totaly understand where you're comming from. I'm a nanny, and yesterday I was making french toast (one of my pre Atkins favorites) for the child I work with. It was hard, but I didn't take a single bite. Great job on sticking to Atkins!

            Good for you, Kevin.
You know, the smells are so much more rewarding than the taste, anyway (or at least to me).
I like to walk past bakeries, etc., but if I were to stray and take a bite - it wouldn't satisfy, anyway.

I wonder how many carbs would be in licking a waffle...

LOL! Just one lick please!!! For me that would turn into about 5 million waffles, so no thanks

This kind of temptation is a daily thing for me. If I'm not around food, I'm reading about it, or talking about it.

Some people who work around a certain product daily develop an aversion to it (like people in a chocolate factory, for instance)

I completely understand the temptation as I work in a restaurant and on Sundays we have a HUGE breakfast buffet with pastries and donuts and waffles and everything else that is a huge no-no.
