I made the mistake of using sweeters now all of a sudden im craving EVERYTHING!!! I even wipped up a little heavy cream and added cocoa powder and a little sweetener and tried a few bites. I didnt like it though and gave it to my 4 yr old, lol. Still I am feeling like a failure somehow. Last friday I was down to 225 and for the last few days I am up to 227. I know the scale doesnt matter and that really isnt bothering me too bad I know it will move again. I guess I just want to stop these cravings somehow before I end up cheating. Any suggestions? Im gonna chug some water and get moving. Best thing I can think of...oh yeah, and im throwing the splenda on top of my pantry. Forget that stuff for now!!! I guess my body just isnt ready for it.

It works for you how......gets the scale movin' or reduces cravings?Originally posted by vJosieI always do a boiled egg squished with mayo. I don't know why it works, but it does for me.
mothercooter, we are allowed sweeteners, so don't beat yourself up as if you cheated. You do have to pay attention though to whether or not they work for or against your weight loss. If they trigger extreme cravings, I'd stay away from them...I've had to do that too. Water helps me also...the more I drink the fuller I feel. I make a point to drink so much in one sitting that I feel bloated and then do not want anything else in my stomach. By the time the water subsides and moves on into my bladder....I no longer want the food item I thought I wanted. Good Luck!!

Re: I am in trouble!!!
Try to remind yourself that the craving will pass. It's happened to me too, for no reason I just crave everything...but I know the next day it will be gone. I like Josie's idea with the boiled egg. For me, chicken breast will get rid of my cravings (don't know why, maybe because it's carb free?) and it keeps me full. But chicken breast can be a pain to make if you don't feel like cooking

Re: I am in trouble!!!
since the sweeteners have kicked off your cravings stop them immediately. sounds like you are a cephalic responder and it is the sweet taste that is triggering you. there are sevral of us here like that. Josie's eggmayo thhing will deepen your ketosis and kill your appetite. that should stop you wanting food for hunger sake but the mental side of those cravings will take work.
Do you have your Atkins emergency kit? of not now would be a great time to fix it so you are ready as the next few days will be tough but you can do it.
if aftput heavy weight pic and goal weight pic oand now weight pic if you don't have any old pics of you at your goal or create one at myvirtualmodel.com free site. then look at them and ask yourself who will be more incontrol of you if you eat this craving food
Write out your reasons for wanting to be the healthier smaller person you are working to become and read that.
put paper and pen in there so you can write yourself a paper on why you had to have the high carb food you are going to eat cause you can't control yourself 500 words should do nicely.
put a water bottel or 2 in there to fill your tummy with while you are contemplating this.
if you are still going to have it and still craving at this point then get out the acceptable for your phase snacks you got in the kit and try one of them if you are truely hungry.
if you make it that far come post your paper so we can all see what this great food is and let ADBBer open your mind to why you really don't want to do that.by the book atkinseer

Re: I am in trouble!!!
Jcapulet - I know what you mean about chicken breasts being a hassle when you don't want to cook but I solved that problem by buying a bag of frozen, skinless chicken tenderloins. The are so easy to throw under the broiler when you want a quck chicken fix.
When I really feel like cooking a good lunch, I put two in a glass pie plate, top them with a tablespoon each of salsa and put them in the oven. Right before they're done, I put some shredded cheese on the top and put them back in the oven. Once the cheese is melted, I put them on my plate and add a little sour cream to the top of each one...........yummy!
They are also great if you cut them in chunks, dip in a beaten egg, coat with crushed pork rinds and fry them up in a pan- chicken nuggets that rival fast food favorites.
My husband is from Holland and I'm developing his habit of eating a big lunch and a smaller supper. I've seen so many thin Dutch people that I figure it has to be the eating habits
