  • Need Help Quick, Please

    Hi,

    I'm on extended induction and my friends are taking me out tonight to celebrate my birthday. I have been so good since I started Atkins and I'm down 17 lbs total. Lately it's like I'm loosing about a pound a day, which is incredible.

    The problem is that we're going to a bar to listen to a friend of mine who is in a rock band. The problem - drinking. Is it okay to have a Michelob Ultra to celebrate my birthday or should I stick to water or a diet soda?

    I'd really like to celebrate my birthday with my friends - many of whom I haven't seen in awhile - but I don't want to do anything to jeopardize my weight loss.

    Input please?

    stick with the water and diet soda if thats what you've been doing all along. It sure seems to be working - you are down 17 pounds and that is amazing!

          So - how did it go? did you have a great time?
          Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

          F/60 yrs/5ft 5.5" (Though due to collapsing vertebrae I am now only 5'3" - but I refuse to recalculate my BMI )

            Hi,

            I had a great time, thank you! I hadn't been out in such a long time. I did have a couple of low carb beers but I had told my friends to stop me at two and if I didn't want to they were to show me a picture of a pig I had downloaded from the internet and that snapped me back to reality so I didn't drink anymore.

            I gained 5 lbs almost overnight and I was really depressed but I didn't give up. I started drinking my water religiously and in a few days I had lost it all and another 2 lbs!!!! I love a good <<<<<woosh>>>>>

            I've lost 19 lbs in 6 weeks - not sure if that's a good loss for 6 weeks or not but it's 19 I didn't gain so I'm all gung ho for more!! Official weigh ins are on Monday so I'm hoping to be down 20 lbs by then. If I reach my goal then I'm ready for some pampering at the nail salon.
