  • Need support

    Well, I'm on Rung 1 of OWL.

    Today has been the day of nibbles and I feel so bad about it. It started out well today, although REALLY hungry.

    Breakfast was two hard boiled eggs, with two glasses of water.

    Lunch was a salad, with cheese, and grilled chicken breast pieces.

    And then when I got back from work, I was SO hungry I ate a hand full of cereal Not like, a FIST full, but a palm full.

    I feel so bad about it, and I'm totally guilting myself.

    I really need help getting through this.

    I think I might have waited too long to eat in between meals. Because I had no snacks today...could that be it? And did I just sabatoge myself at all?

    Btw, I had pizza topping for dinner because the family wanted pizza. So I just ate the toppings. I need another serving of veggies, so I'm going to either break out the broccoli or green beans.

    These are my percentages for the day: 67% fat/5% carbs/28% protein

    I`m sure we have all done it!

    I know when I first started out I ate some gummy bears....I felt soooo bad!

    Sometimes I even have dreams...like the other night i had a dream that i ate some pizza and one single dorito...and in my dream i was scolding myself. It was wierd..and u can agree or not agree, but i think it means something

    when i was learning spanish my teacher would always tell me that u fully grasp the language once you dream about it. That you are so dedicated to learning it and "being" it (thats what he said)...thats its second nature to you.

    So maybe now that i was dreaming and scolding myself i have made atkins second nature..ehh who knows

    sorry i kinda went off on a tangent there.

    dont sweat it though! we all make mistakes..

    i always make sure i have plenty of snack foods packed for the day..

    maybe u could even go to the store and get a lil frozen shrimp platter...those always make a wonderful snack! bring plenty of water also....that gives u something to sip on so u dont think about eating other things..

    but dont worry! we all make mistakes!

      I agree with MissRanita on this. Don't beat yourself up about it. Keep that feeling in mind the next time you feel the urge to eat something filled with carbs.

      I don't know if you comprimised ketosis or not. Just keep eating from rung one and make sure you have plenty of healthy snacks on hand in the future.

      Oh, and just in case you didn't know, watch out with eating pizza toppings because a lot of restaurants put sugar in their sauce and use pre-shredded cheese which has starch in it to keep it from sticking together.

        Yep, last time I ate pizza topping (just from one slice) it knocked me right outta ketosis.

        You can never be sure of whats in the food you eat unless you make it yourself. Even labels lie I have come to learn. It may say 0 sugars but sugar is in the ingredients list. (some pre-cooked chicken breasts i had in the freezer)

            Thats so weird because when I was on the first week I would have these incredably VIVID dreams of being in Subway and having a footlong sandwich that was about 10 feet long in my dream. Even in the dream I was so upset because I was ruining my diet but I couldnt stop eating it because it taste so good....

            What do you think this means?

              Those dreams are common place. I still have them now 2.5 years into my Atkins life. They are so realistic. But also so very common.

              I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

                Have you also noticed that you can be in a grocery store on the furthest side from the bakery but fresh bread is ALL you smell?

                    I think you hit the nail on the head. I eat six times a day. Three larger meals and three snacks. IF I skip one........ I am ravenous for the next one. Try and keep yourself on a level. Eat more frequently!
                    Also, as you proceed onto OWL.....percentages are no longer the same. There are no set percentages in OWL.

                      I'm thinking I'm going to have to go back to Induction for 3 days to get myself back into Ketosis. I'm out of it. I think it might've been the pizza toppings.
