i am a water drinker, i have a litre at every meal. i just read another post and someone mentioned "water full" and a light bulb went off. am i drinking too much water with my food? should i have only 1/2 litre with my food then spread the other amounts during the day? i feel full after having water with my meals but is it working against me?

    Re: water advice

Have you read the links I posted in that thread? I think you should and make a decision about it yourself.

I never thought much about filling up with water to feel "Full". Mostly because it was a low cal dieter trick and we've been brainwashed with low cal stuff most of our lives. But with Atkins, the appetite suppressant effect of ketosis/lipolysis should make water filling redundant because our hunger should already be reduced and our need to feed our hunger should be similarly reduced.

But if you are eating/drinking in order to maintain that level of physical fullness (the weight in your stomach), then you might want to consider that competitive eaters do that in order to keep their stomachs nice and stretched in order to accomodate those 50 hard boiled eggs, 38 hotdogs, 20 cheeseburgers, etc.

Again, read those links. Do your own research. Then make the decision that's best for you in the short and long term.

      Re: water advice

thanks- i don't think that i am drinking the water to feel full, i am not hungry after a meal- i love water and i have always drank it in large quantities. but it has me thinking - am i leaving too much space in my stomach for a binge or something like that. i will do the research and see what i come up with.

I would not worry about the space in your stomach. Trust the appetite suppression to prevent the binge. There will be enough time for to worry about binge eating if it truly becomes an issue. There is planning, but it will become worrying if you go awry. Good luck in your research.
