  • Oven-fry:(

Yes I know it's NOT allowed. My husband decided to be a nice guy last night and cook dinner for me and the babies. He knows I am doing the "low carb thing" so he tried to get everything low carb. He made some broccoli (not over my limit) and chicken with cheese in the middle of it. It was really good. But here's the kicker...he put oven-fry on it . I checked the box and it only has 10 carbs but it has flour in it and I'm sure it has other things that I am NOT supposed to have. I brushed it off the best I could (without him noticing, of course). It was only 1/2 a piece, also. So my questions are do you think that will mess me up horribley and is that considered cheating. I have been so proud of myself for the past 2 weeks because I have been so motivated and have not cheated at all. So this is a major disappointment. Here he thought he was doing something nice so I couldn't say anything to him. That would have hurt his feeling But I'll make sure I give specific instructions next time!!!

Obviously, you know better to plan next time. As for hurting his feelings, what would be his reaction to how you are feeling now about last night's meal? Would he rather have you eat the meal or worry about the fact you ate it and what it's going to do to you? Teach what is good and what is off limits, and you won't have this problem again. As for cheating or not, you certainly ate off the plan unless you are the wheat rung of OWL, which is doubtful after 2 weeks.

It's up to you to decide if you wanted to eat that way or not. You know the likely long term success if you eat as the rules imply. For being "messed up horribly", it may or may not based up exact carb load and your sensitivity. Either way learn from the experience, and you will be ahead for it.

Nope not to the wheat rung yet Not even close. Hopefully my body can handle it. Unfortunately for me I didn't teach in depth. You can be sure I will prepare better next time...or I'll jsut cook my own meals so I can be sure. Thank you!

You look great by the way!!!

        Thanks

My wife, sombersusie as she is known here, can attest I was particularly paranoid about other people's cooking. I figured if they saw how concerned I was they would see how motivated I was to lose. I tell you the meanest joke you can play on an Atkineer is "honey, I didn't think it would hurt if I used real sugar instead of Splenda this time... just kidding"

        They'll come around in time.

sink rinsing can do wonders for bad coatings. and do tell hubby how great the dinner was and he needs just on change for you.

My husband decided to bring me a hot chocolate last week at a football game. He was trying to be thoughtful and I felt horrible telling him I couldn't drink it. I certainly understand why you ate the chicken, but I bet he would have understood if you brushed off the coating because he sounds very thoughtful!!

I have only been eatting this way a month now and I have had to turn down well meaning food bearers several times at parties and work. I am learning to speak up but it is hard.
