  • I cheated :( :( :(

I feel absolutely horrible because I cheated today. And not only do I feel mentally horrible, I feel physically horrible. And to top it off, I started the weigh, no way challenge today and look what I did!!! I have not cheated since I started Atkins 3 weeks ago and it really does make you feel like crap physically. Anyone who thingks about doing it.....DON'T. It was not worth it. The only good thing is that maybe I won't see the weight gain from it if I'm not weighing for two weeks. Hopefully, I'll whip myself back into ketosis in a few days and challenge myself to exercise more. If there are any other cheaters who don't mind admitting it, please tell me how it affected you and if you recovered OK.

    Re: I cheated

Right Sersgirl, now you have taken yourself in hand and are back on the correct way of eating for induction (well done for catching yourself and stopping btw ) what are you going to do now to make sure you dont slip again?

If you can work out the reason you allowed yourself to slide down that slippery slope you can work out a strategy for resisting or avoiding it happening again.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

      Re: I cheated

Well I want to applaud you for stopping right away and getting back on the horse, so to speak. Some ppl cheat, then feel like a failure and just binge and go carb crazy thinking, well I already cheated, might as well just quit. NONSENSE. I cheated last time i was on atkins and I got right back in there and didnt take long at all to get back into ketosis. Best not to cheat at all but if it happens, get right back into it. Not the next day, not after the next meal...that second!

        Re: I cheated

Well, I haven't cheated on induction -- but I've cheated at about every other diet that I've ever been on. I think you have amazing strength to come on here and admit it to everyone...it shows that you are really committed to doing this the right way.

We all make mistakes, don't beat yourself up over it. You obciously know what you need to do to get past it...so you'll do it and in two weeks when you weigh again it will be but a distant memory! Keep fighting the good fight and you'll do great!

          Re: I cheated

Elizellen is right. You know your weaknesses, so make a plan so that the next time you are faced with a potential cheat, you will know what to do to stop it. Keep the good attitude about the no-weigh challenge. It will give you time to focus on what you need to do and taking action to make it happen. You can do this. We're all cheering you on. You have the best support group here and everyone wants to see you succeed!!
