  • Did I screw up?

    Hi, I have previously lost 22 lbs on Atkins a few years ago...I have tried many times to go back on the WOL but have not succeeded. I had a baby in October last year and am still holding onto about 40lbs of fat ( I was 20lbs) overweight when I got preg). I am so uncomfortable with how I look and feel...I cannot find clothes to wear that I feel good or even comfy in and Im sick of it all! I'm the biggest I have ever been!

    Yesterday I decided to try Atkins again, but SERIOUSLY! I started reading the posts and it got me motivated to start. Day 1 was yesterday and I ate perfectly! No cheats and no food at night however I did eat some Tzaiki with my chicken and beef and now Im worried that I have screwed up my very first day! Someone pls tell me that it wouldnt have affected my efforts!!! Today is day 2 and all I can think about is making sure I dont stray..support would help! Thanks everyone.

    if you are talking about that greek cucumber, mint, yogurt dip yep you screwed up. Reread Your DANDR and pay close attendtion to the acceptable foods lists in chapter 11 and rule 5 that says to eat nothing not on the list.

    you can make a mock version of the stuff with some of your sour cream but you will need to count the veggies and carbs used in the mixture.

    Don't give up just keep going and make day 2-14 a clean inductiion

      The first days are the hardest--your body and mind are resistant to giving up carbs. Lots of cravings in these first days, and you might not feel so hot, too. BUT wait until day 3 or 4, and you will wake up with energy, vigor, and your cravings will be gone!

      Whatever you do, don't give up! If you make a mistake, get right back on the plan--don't wait for the next day or next meal, do it in the next bite.

      Also, take a pic of yourself and put it in clear view--I put mine on my fridge so I have to look at my chubby face everytime I go in the kitchen!

      Stick to it, and your hard work will be rewarded.

        You can do it. Think of yesterday as practice and today as day one of this glorious adventure. There is a printable list of acceptable foods here on ADBB. Print it out and keep it so you can refer to it. And when in doubt, DON"T

          I agree with what everyone else has said...
          Just try to be a picky eater... some people may feel the need to make comments about it which is annoying but just be picky as ****!
          If you're about to eat something but unsure whats in it, don't eat it. Like Megs siggy says "eat first and ask questions later = disaster" (or something like that )... that is soooo true.
          One slip up doesn't have to be your doom... just forget it and try not to do it again!

          Was, Am, Will be: 280/222/175ish.
          Started Dec 2005 and lost 105 lbs by mid 2006, maintained loss for the most part until 2009...then really let go & gained some back... lol

              ask in the recipe section but you should be able to miix crushed garlic and mint with cucumbers and sour cream thinned with a bit of olive oil and come close to your dip.

                Just wanted to say that Im glad your on the right track now. I had a baby last oct too!! She will be 1 on the 26th.
