  • I dont think this is normal?

Hey all! I have a question. I've noticed the past couple of days... after I eat l a meal (with lunch and/or dinner), I get really tired, and have to take a nap. It's like Thanksgiving syndrome... when you eat a lot of food and then just have to nap? Well, I'm not stuff myself, I'm eating until satisfaction... but I need to take a nap afterwards. Thoughts? This isn't normal, is it? My meal times are B:btwn 830-900am L: Btwn 130-230pm D- 7:30pm. I don't have that much caffiene- just a cup of coffee in the morning, and a tea after dinner.

    Cheers
    -Puma

Hiya....well from one amateur to another....I'm an OWL now but I'd say ditch the caffeine for starters and drink lots of water. See whether you maybe need a multi vitamin supplement for the first month?

Maybe you are still having some sugars sneak in through salad dressings? Do you read you labels carefully? You just have to quit the sugar habit through induction. Good luck.

Perhaps it's your body recharging itself. I read in DANDR that sometimes, after eating healthy and starting a fitness plan, you actually are tired and withdrawn, because all of the energy you're giving your body is going to the internal organs--flushing, regenerating, healing processes, so your external muscles and body feel tired.

Maybe this is the case? Or it could be the change in seasons. I know when it's cold outside, anytime I get a blanket or go into a warm room (or perhaps eat a hot meal) I just want to curl up and nap....like a hibernation instinct.

How much are you exercising and are you taking any supplements? I have found that a good workout will stimulate your energy levels rather than deplete it. L-Carnitine can also help boost one's ability to use your food intake for energy as well.

Oh yes, I had that problem too early on because I wasnt exercising. It wasnt until I started exercising (even small stuff like going for walks) that I learned how great I could really feel. It was amazing. I went from being tired and sluggish from volunteering to do some of my husbands stuff around the house (taking out trash even though he usually does it). I felt like a whole new person. Not sure if thats your prob though, you may be exercising.
