  • Do You Have to Weigh Yourself?

This is my second time around and I have chosen not to use the scale this time. The scale made me a little crazy. I was on that d@#$ thing constantly, to the point that it was dictating my mood. If I lost a couple of pounds I was in a great mood, but God forbid if I didn't lose any weight that day or week; I surely had the attitude of life. This time I going by the way my clothes fit and how I look. The last time I went to the doctor I weighed 210. My clothes are much loser and I feel much better. For right now that will be my unit of measurement. What do you think ADBB?

More power to you if you can stay away from the scale. You already have your starting weight so toss that scale. Do you see how many people do struggle from the scale addiction. Congrats on your loss so far with your clothes feeling better on you!

I think it is best to get on the scale once a week or every two weeks or maybe once a month. But staying completely away from the scale might be a problem.

Measurements or body fat % checks can be just as good. But I have had a hard time getting good measurements with a tape.

As long as you have some kind of feedback, it is probably ok.

I think it's great! I should do the same thing...
Are you measuring yourself or anything else?

You know, I have been considering staying away from the scale indefinitely too. I think I may go by measurements, how my clothes fit and the mirror. I see no problem with avoiding the scale, but you do need to make sure you are sticking to plan and exercising.

I think it is a GREAT idea!!! I have been thinking of doing the same thing... the scale is EVIL!!!

I was very depressed because I gained 4 lbs for TOM (sorry guys), been on the scale every day waiting for it to go away... then I decided to measure again last night...has been 10 days since I measured last. And I have lost a ttl of 4.75" in that time!!!! So, I am staying away from the scale... may only weigh once a month!!

Absolutely a great idea. I wish I had that strength cause I am addicted to the thing. When it comes right down to it, losing inches is what we really should be using as our goal, not what the scales say
