  • Who Re-Started in October??

I restarted 10/3/06 and I wanted to know how much weight people are actually losing. I'm on a personal no weigh challenge for the entire month of October. This is a first for me and I'm not having any issue with it. I know that I've lost some weight because of the way my clothing fits. For right now that is a enough for me. Enough about me I'm really interested in knowing how people are doing with their weight since 10/1? Holla!

    Hi There!

I'm from Harlem too. I am restarting in October. I read that you are not addicted to the scale, lucky you. I weigh myself twice a day... I made a promise to myself that I won't give up on myself this time. I wish I only had 60 pounds to go I wake up early every morning and go walking by myself. It's a little lonely, but it feels so good by the time I get dressed for work.

      Wow LovingMeAgain,

Another Harlemite on ADBB,who knew. Let me share this with you. I've been walking on and off for the past few years, what a spiritual experience. I know there are many people who believe in having a buddy to walk with, but I'm just the opposite. I've worked thru some of my most intense problems walking "all by myself." I can pray and basically be one with myself. You should feel great on your way to work, what a since of accomplishment (one day at a time); Do you.

This a great message board to get your motivation on, as well as support. Hang in there so that soon we can have a testimony. I threw away my scale a while ago, it was making me crazy and dictating my mood. I decided that I will get weighed on my next doctors' appointment, 12/2. I am making a conscious effort not to be addicted to scale. It took a few years to gain this weight and I know for a fact that its not leaving over night. Let's give ourselves a pat on the back for being were we are at this place in time. Keep doing what your doing. Peace and blessings.

      P.S. Keep posting.

            Hello,

I am just seeing your response today....what you say about walking is so true. I have been able to think out and come up to solutions to my problems while pounding the pavement. I feel myself getting stronger even though my right knee is always hurting. Since I have dropped some weight on my feet, I wear 3 pairs of socks now to help absorb the shock to my knees. The last thing I want is sagging skin, so will definitely continue to walk, and I will be adding weight training this week.

Good to hear from you LovingMeAgain,

I see you're still hangin in there with the walking; me to. I've been doing the 2 mile WATP video tape mon-fri and then walk to work. I feel great. I know I've dropped some weight by my clothes but I won't know exactly how much until 12/2. I went thru a short period when my knee was hurting, I took a break for about a week and then went right back. One day at time.

              Keeping the Faith Real,
              Chris
