  • Low Carb Beer

Hi I am back, I am on an extended induction and basically if I dont allow myself any alcohol at all I end up crumbling and giving in to loads of carbs, so I am allowing myself 3-4 bottles of michelob on friday and saturday nights, there are 1.2g of carbs per bottle and they dont affect my weightloss, and this way it means i dont want to break this WOE.

    Is this wrong???
    Should I not?

    Welcome Back Shoelover!
You may want to stop by the Second Time Around Forum! There are a lot of us over going through this again too!

Most people here will probably tell you to stay away from them until the proper rung... and you should probably stay away from them for the 1rst 2 weeks. I know you said it does not affect your weight loss... but have you done a clean Induction to see if you lose more without it? Maybe you could add them back in in moderation after that and see how it affects you... I believe in a clean Induction but I also believe you have to do what is right/good for you to succeed. So, since it is your body and you are in control of it and how much you lose and how fast, do what you NEED to do for you!!! HTH

Drinking a couple of beers is fine. What happens is, your burn the alcohol before you burn fat so it might slow your weighloss somewhat but probably not enough to worry about. I never recommend it during induction, but extended induction is different. Enjoy your beer.

It's up to you, but you can't really call yourself on extended induction, technically, if you drink alcohol. Just remember that every time you drink, your body has to metabolize the alcohol before it metabolizes fat, so just keep that in mind.

Um...I'm not taking sides either way, but if you just want alcohol (hoping I'm not giving this advice to an alcoholic), why not drink liquor? 0 carbs. You still burn it off before the fat.

I would suggest giving it up for a while, unless you like light beer. You'll be surprised at your progress and how good you might feel.

And if you don't allow yourself alcohol, how does that make you load up on carbs? My advice is to give up the alcohol and try a week of clean induction--your weight loss will probably be much higher. I am saying this from experience. I drank right after induction when I started, and stalled myself bigtime. It was stupid and not worth it.

Why not get through the two weeks of induction and work your way up to rung 5. Do the rungs in moderation and just DO IT! It will only be a few weeks and you will feel so great when you do!!

Good Heavens! Beer that's 1.2 carbs?? Why wasn't I told of this? I'm in extended induction, and thinking of climbing the ladder pretty soon. I've been dry for many weeks now, and that's just so gotta end. I could be happy with one, honestly, but I just thought it was a no-brainer no-no.
