I am allergic to nuts so that step is completely off limits for me, so I guess you're right, stepping up on the veggies THEN berries for me.

I also slightly forced myself a light breakfast (1 slice of ham and 1 slice of cheese and 1 hard boiled egg) and I worked out for 1 hr today and will probably do that all next week. I am hoping the extra meal and the extra exercise will help my metabolism kick into gear more. Of course the test is really tomorrow to see if I work out then too .

Thanks again everyone for your input and time.

    With every good wish,
Ok it has been a week since my adjustments. I slightly forced myself a small breakfast, and some light snacking (slice of ham wrapped in cheese). I have noticed my lunch and dinner portions went slightly down too and I don't think I ever felt hungry all week, whereas before by lunch I was. I walked 2 miles per day all week and I lost 3lbs this week !!! So it seems (so far) this is a winning recipe for me. I think the increased exercise is what put me over the edge. So...with me falling under 184, I guess I am off this topic forum and into OWL to the veggie rung. I shall read up on that tonight and see what I need to do. Thanks all for your help !

Yes on the exercise, but fueling your body more frequently through the day...even if it is "just" a piece of ham and cheese or a deviled egg...is probably contributing a lot more than you realise. Think of a fire in winter, you want to consistently fuel that fire all day.

IMO nobody has ever gotten fat eating veggies. Enjoy moving up and adding more vegetables, you'll get satisfaction of nutrients, texture, flavors etc.

have fun moving to OWL great job increasing the exercise cause as Dr Atkins says in DANDR chapter 15 if you aren't exercising you aren't doing his plan.

good for you figuring out you were over eating your portions. that is one thing many folk fail to realize that as they get lighter the body needs less fuel to do the exact same thing so if you aren't increasing your exerice and activce life style you need to cut back on your fuel intake and your body will tell you all about it when it wants more food as huger.

becareful too if you over eat your protein amount (should be about 30% for your fitday totals) that excess is turned to sugar in the body and that sugar can and odes stimulate your insulin production which drops blood sugar and in a vicious cycle stimulates you to eat again and angain.

Congrats on 3 more pounds! And welcome to OWL--I really like OWL because of the choices I have now. I never thought I'd be excited to be allowed one more serving of veggies!
