  • Long one, but I need help

I need help. I have been religiously following Induction for the past two and a half weeks, and I have lost less than two pounds. I have been drinking 2.5 liters of water per day, and I have been strictly following the rules of induction. The I have switched from Diet Coke to Diet Rite for breakfast, but I do not think that should hinder my weight loss that much. Also, I have been exercising 6 days a week for at least 45 minutes a day (an increase of 3 days more than usual) I know I need to measure, but I have a lot of weight to lose. I would like to see the scale budging more than this. Any suggestions? Any tips? I don't use any condiments with sugar; I eat Atkins bars occasionally when I am on the run (I figure that is better than no breakfast at all; I eat meats, eggs, and acceptable veggies for three meals a day and one snack. PLEASE HELP ME!!! I need to lose 40 pounds to be healthy, and I want to lose 50 pounds by April. I am really trying extremely hard, and it is really disappointing that I haven't lost any more than I have. I planned on doing Induction until Thanksgiving, maybe Christmas...but if I don't start seeing more loss in the next two weeks I will be really tempted to give up the diet. Please help me if you can.

    A NORMAL day would be:

An omlette with cheese, jalapenos, and diced tomatoes; eggs with 3 slices of nitrate free bacon, or an Atkins advantage bar if I am in a hurry.

Lunch- Always a salad- lettuce, cheese, and either pepperoni or whatever meat I had the night before on top. I use very little dressing, but I do use a bit of homemade ranch or blue cheese.

Dinner- Chicken, Hamburger Steak, or stir fry steak; usually cooked in the George Foreman grill with asparagus, broccoli, coleslaw, or a small side salad (same as lunch)

Snack- cheese, pepperoni slices, scoop of chicken salad, a spoonful of sugar free peanut butter, or devilled eggs

I drink 80 oz of water per day.

I do Pilates 3 days, The Firm 1 days, The Grind 1 day, and Tae Bo one day- these are all at least 45 minutes long. I also use my Gazelle for 15-30 minutes a day while I watch TV.

Anybody have any hints to why I can’t lose any faster? I wanted to be inspired by the amount I lost after the first two weeks, not disappointed. I really want to keep doing this, but I want to see RESULTS! My ketostix are showing that I am in ketosis, so what is UP with the scale??!!?? HELP!!!

Re: Long one, but I need help

your menu lloks good except the peanutbutter isn't allower. since ther4e are no portion sizes I need you to answer this question honestly has every bite that you have eatten been just to satisfy your hunger when you were eatting? or have you continued eatting because the food was legal on your plate and tasated good? if so then you are over eating your Atkins. Dr Atkins placed no limits on proteins and fats becasue he felt they were self limiting beacuse of the satisfaction we get from eating them and the hunger satisfaction small amounts of them generate.

With the new to you exercise routine you will be holding some fluid weight until your body learns that load on your muscles is the normal load for them. when they do you will get an overniught weight loss on the scales which is why the measuring is so important.

Sorry! I eat 2 cups of salad for lunch with less than 2 tbsp of dressing; meats 3-6oz servings, and dinner veggies are 1 cup or less. For snacks, 1 devilled egg, 5 slices of pepperoni and 1-2 slices of cracker cut cheese slices (very small portions). My calorie calculation is usually between 1000-1300 per day.

Hi Ashley! I would watch the amount of cheese. Anything over 2-3 oz makes me stall quickly. Also, as you are working out so much, could there be a possibility that you are building muscle, which weighs more than fat -- which might not be showing a loss on the scale, but might show a loss in inches? Try measuring for a really good idea of what's going on.

        Good luck, kiddo!

According to your numbers in your signature, you've lost 6 pounds in approximately the first 2 weeks, which is over 10% way to your goal. Those are fantastic numbers. They might not seem in comparison to others with more to lose, but those are great numbers. I know in your post you say only 2.5 pounds, but even at that it is close to 5%, which is still average for Induction losses.

It is human nature to want it off quicker, but I hope you do realize your hard work is paying off. Have you been measuring yourself as well? The losses on the scale may only be telling half the story.

as long as you are only eating the amount of food it takes to stisfy your hunger be it 1200 or 4000 cals that is the correct amount of food for you that day.
so are you feeding your hunger?

as Kent pointed out you have lost very well so far.

I've read on here that the atkins bars can also cause stalls!! Maybe try cutting them out for a week and see how it goes.

Re: Long one, but I need help

Thanks! I have cut out Atkins bars and caffeine this week, and I started taking Metamucil pills for a fiber supplement to flush out the bad stuff. Anyway, I am not going to weigh again until next Sunday, but I will let you know how it goes. I am just hoping to see better results next time around.
