  • I have a quick question

I know ya'll have told me before basically what I want to know. And I know you're not suppose to skip meals and I didn't purposely skip yesterday. I took my son to school at 9 and then immediately went to the store for Christmas shopping. I didn't get home till 1 p.m. from shopping and ate breakfast for the 1st time yest. I then didn't eat again till about 6'ish last night which was about a cup of salad w/pepporoni and mayo mixed in it. At about 9 p.m. I ate a 2 egg omelet w/cheese inside. THAT'S IT!!!! I could kick myself for doing that. Like I said, I was very busy and should have made time to sit down to eat.

Would this bad behavior cause a 1 lb. gain overnight?? I did drink my water yest. too. I know, if I had time to drink water, I had time to eat.

    Thanks.

I doubt it would cause the fluctuation in your weight...but keep in mind that your weight is GOING to fluctuation from day to day. I gained 2 lbs yesterday and 3 today....it's TOM and it happens. You cannot rely on the scale on a daily basis. It's going to go down, up , down, up....but the general trend is going to be down over a longer period of time.

You know that you should be eating more frequently and better choices than you did...so there's really nothing I can say to you about that LOL It happens to the best of us from time to time. It's just a lesson to have some things in your fridge to quickly grab and go, when you don't have time.

I love to keep a dozen boiled eggs in my fridge so that if I'm on the run, I can grab and egg, jump in the car and go.

Yeah, I've been going from 205.2 to 206.6 for the past week and a half now. It's driving me crazy. I forgot to measure myself Wed. which is when I weigh myself each week. I woke up this morning and looked skinnier in the mirror but not showing on the scale. I know that the scale isn't always gonna tell the truth. I've already had breakfast and drank 32 oz. of water this morning so I'll wait and measure myself tomorrow morning if I can remember.

You're going to see fluctuations on the scale...and it does kinda "hurt your feelings" so to speak to not see some sort of validation as a reward for being good.

I've really had to learn this lesson the hard way as I get closer to goal. Find your rewards in other places besides just the scale. Take pictures of yourself as before and after shots, measure, try on clothes, etc. Take stock of your physical health, and your mental clarity. I'm sure there are lots of rewards you'll begin to see. I've had all kinds of them myself.

Re: I have a quick question

Fluctuations are normal... especially when TOM is round the corner. But do try to keep some emergency legal foods in your bag. A snack is better than nothing and serves to keep your metabolism revved. Hard boiled eggs is a good suggestion. Good for you getting your water in... that's so important!

your timing except for your first meal was fine there were not any more then 6 hrs between them. there will be days wneh do to your appitie suppression and following only the 6 hr rule you will eat about 8oo cals total and then days when you are ravonous and eat 3000. don't sweat them learn your hunger and feed only it. that will keep you a life long atkins loser.

Re: I have a quick question

We were on the go over the past weekend so I fixed myself a small zip loc baggie with some cheese cubes and pepperoni just in case we didn't get to eat on a regular schedule. I'm glad that I brought it along as I was so hungry after the drive there (2 hours) and we didn't get to eat until after my son's band performed which was about 6 hours after I had breakfast!

Re: I have a quick question

That kind of happened to me today, little.

Weekends are tougher for me, simply because I have no set schedule. I kind of veg out (well except I always work out) and since I wake up later and somehow lazier, I don't get around to eating anything until it's almost lunch time.

Today I had some yogurt at about 10am, went to the gym, then had "brunch" of an omelette and turkey bacon. I haven't eaten much at all, and I'm late on drinking my water. When stuff like that happens, I just go with the flow and eat when I'm hungry, knowing that I'll get back on track in the next day.

I think if it's an occasional thing, or an unavoidable thing, no big deal. Just as long as you're on a schedule or plan for the rest of the week, you're cool.
