  • Making It Through Thanksgiving

    Hi All -

Between my brothers and sister and myself we all are assigned our holiday that we cook for. I have to cook Thanksgiving dinner for my entire family (rouighly about 23 people) and I'm kind of dreading it so I'm sending out a question for our ADBB members who have been low carbing it for awhile..........How do you get through it?

I love, love, love stuffing and I have to make a huge amount of it as it's our family favorite. How do I make it without tasting to see if the spices are right (I've never measured)? How do I slave over a hot stove for days and resist all the temptations.

I've lost 31 lbs now and don't want to backslide but I know the stuffing is going to be really hard for me. I'm making an Atkins friendly version of a pumpkin pie for my niece and myself as she is doing Atkins also but I know it's going to be really hard to not be tempted. I don't care about the potatoes and gravy - I could live without them but the stuffing, that's another story.

I have always looked forward to Thanksgiving just for the darn stuffing LOL. I love Turkey so I'll eat my salad first, then try to fill up with turkey so I'm not so tempted and I hope I'll get through it okay.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Re: Making It Through Thanksgiving

I can't really help, as I'm not a stuffing fan, but there's a thread posted, "amazingly like stuffing," in food chat last week I think, and there's a recipe that's supposedly really good...it was posted by Adena.
