  • Has anyone done the fat fast???

    Hello,
Just curious to know if anyone here has done the fat fast and how it worked for them. I know that not everyone can do it, or should do it, but just wondering.

    Thanks

Re: Has anyone done the fat fast???

    Hey there,
I've done it and I can honestly say I'll never do it again.
I was probably 6 months into this WOE when I tried, I had been stalled for about 2 1/2 months so I thought I'd give it a try. The first day was ok, but after that I had absolutely no energy, I was beyond tired, headachy, and couldn't concentrate on anything... I did it for 5 days and I lost 8 lbs... but I gained 15 lbs the frist 2 weeks back to induction...
Sooo not worth it in my opinion, I felt like crap and gained... two things we should not go through on this WOE (at least after the induction flu lol)...
I'm sure this works for others though, maybe I'm just weird.

Thanks so much for your reply. I tried it last week because it had been a few weeks with no weight loss and I decided to try it. Well, I found myself really tired. So I guess excersice is not recomended during it. The scary part from hearing your story was the fact that after you get off you gain.omg. that is really scary.

unless you were metabolically resistant you will not improve your rate of losing bu doing it AND since it is very low protein you will be using your protein stores as the protein source for all bodily functions needing protein during it which is why Dr Atkins warned about using it. JoanOH had a topic up about what doing it did to her and how she regained afterwards too.

check your inches and your scale weight and you will see your body fat is leaving if you are eating your atkins correctly and doing the mandatory exercise part of the plan. 4 full weeks of no loss of pounds NOR inches lost is the definition of a stall so follow DANDR and let yourself be the big loser you can be.

Re: Has anyone done the fat fast???

I did a modified meat/fat fast last week for 4 days- I had only lost around 7 pounds in a month (none in 2-3 weeks), and I lost almost 8 more last week. I really didn't feel deprived, hungry, or have any bad side effects. I think it has actually made me feel LESS hungry this week since I have been off. This is what my typical day looked like:

B- Devilled Egg and 3 slices of bacon (ready serve- no nitrates)
L- 2 days I had chicken salad and 2 days I had roast chuck that I cooked in the crockpot with a diet rite, some butter, and a small onion.
D- I had the roast one night with a devilled egg on the side, one night I had pork chops, chicken salad one night, and grilled chicken with a devilled egg the last night.
Snack- Devilled Egg (yolk only most of the time), about 8 macadamia nuts, or pepperoni slices.

It was actually easier for me than making salads, and I just had to prepare a few big dishes for the entire week. AND it made me LOOK FORWARD to my mock danishes and salads which was a HUGE bonus since I was kind of getting bored.

Do it if you think you need to...just modifiy it to suit your needs.
