I started Atkins on October 30th, I had a slip up about a week ago, where I had four chocolate chip cookies and so I extended induction for a week. It's been four weeks, and I have not lost a pound. I don't think my clothes fit any better either. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong - I've mainly been having grilled chicken and vegetables, that's it. Last week, I introduced carrots but that's the only change i've made. Please help!! I'm getting so scared, I wanted to look good in time for the holidays.

Re: Am I doing some something wrong?
Carrots aren't on the acceptable list I don't think. Also you should vary your menu to make sure your getting the most bang for your health buck. Don't be scared, just make sure you know the rules of the diet. Have you read the book yet. Its really the best road map for optimum weight loss.
Post a couple days menu for the experts to check out for you. Drink your water, exercise and do the Whooshie Fairy Dance and you will see those pounds drop.

Check out the recipe sections and find some more ways to fix the good food that you're eating. You certainly don't want to get bored with the food choices...and there are so many to choose from!

Re: Am I doing some something wrong?
an important part of this woe is to still eat fats. just having plain chicken and vegetables wouldnt have that. try some recipes that have cheese, salad dressing, etc for some added fat to your menu. plus, try salads...in induction you limit the amount of other veggies. hope this helps.

Re: Am I doing some something wrong?
Carrots could be part of them problem. They are a starchy vegetable...way up there with potatoes so you need to cut them out until you're on the upper rungs of OWL.

You should try posting a day or two's menus in the 'review my menu' forum so a few members can review, perhaps there is something that may be causing you issues that you aren't aware of but another member might see.

Re: Am I doing some something wrong?
Wow. I didnt realize carrots would be that disastrous, its just that I love carrots, and I figured I'd just add that in limited amounts. My first two weeks were strict induction. And I did read the book, I will get a copy though .I don't have one at hand.
Thanks so much for all the advice - I'll go post my meal!

Re: Am I doing some something wrong?
Hi
Print off the pocket sized induction food list - its a sticky thread! http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3982
Its brilliant - I printed a couple out and have them in handbags, on my desk, in the kitchen - everywhere!! You can then just take a look at it if you are unsure about what vegetables are allowed!
Good luck - and really push the water through!!

Re: Am I doing some something wrong?
thanks, yes, I'm going ot pay more close attention to what is allowed on the inductions list. I feel so defeated though now that I realize I might have been eating too much protein and might not be burning fat. It's been three weeks of intensive exercising and eating what I thought was at least healthy, and typicallly you should see results, so not having any success in three weeks is so discouraging.
