really wierd. i have been stalled for the last 4 weeks. i started to run 1 hour everyday since i noticed the stall. this last couple of days the scale went from 179 to 174 i am confused is the scale playing tricks on me? I am talking in the last 2 days. i have ben sick as well with a cold and i missed my workouts. i am going in for surgery tomorrow i will be out for 2 more days from running. i cant believe my eyes. i think the battery on my scale is dying. i have never seen that number since pre- children 7 years ago.oh also i stopped eating cheese. i thought that it was making me stall.

    Re: scales playing tricks

You've upped your exercise, cut out a high calorie food, been sick, AND you're going in for surgery (stress!).

Your scale isn't playing tricks on you. Increasing your exercise alone will cause your muscles to hyperhydrate for a bit. When they figure out that the new demands aren't an "emergency demand" but rather an expectation, your body will release the water. It doesn't surprise me in the least that you've had a whoosh just based on that alone.

You've cut out cheese, which like I said is a calorie dense food. You'll see losses from there too.

You've been sick and you're headed in for surgery (good luck with that, by the way!). Those things will decrease your appetite (for some people), cause you to be a bit dehydrated, etc.

Nope. Doesn't surprise me at all that you've whooshed. Enjoy it. You've earned it. - But replace the batteries in the scale anyway.

    Congrats!

Brook - can you say OH MY GOSH -you look AMAZING. WOW!!! Did you do any weights? When did you incorporate them in. I am running/speed walking 1 hr per day, but i have yet to do any weights. i know i need too but this would require me to go and buy them or do my workout at the gym. I have 3 young kids 7,5,3 and i work fulltime. i know what its like not to have anytime for me. I love the pic with you in a mini skirt. I long to be able to wear an outfit like that. You are a true inspiration !!!!!!!!
