    Hey everyone. I've been sick with a cold for the last day and it's getting worse. I'm just getting ready for bed and I took a 2 tablespoon dose of NyQuil because it REALLY helps when I need to get some sleep. About 10 mins ago I began having real harsh stomach pains. I read the label and I see it contains high fructose corn syrup. All these cold medicines that come in liquid form are notoriously sweet, I'm sure that's probably what it's from. Do you guys think the pains could be from the NyQuil?

    Next question,

    I've been on the diet almost three weeks now. I've lost around 8lbs. and gone off the diet once, Thanksgiving day. I've tested myself every other day and I've been in ketosis every time. It feels like I've hit a plateau and I'm curious to know what the common reasons are for this.

    Hi Joey,
    Your body goes through a lot of internal changes in the beginning as you detox from sugar/ high carbs. I'm not really knowledgeable on cough medicines, but high fructose corn syrup is a sugar, so that might have something to do with it.

    There are many reasons why you don't show any losses on the scales. It's very common after the first 14 days or so too.

      You need to redefine your definition of a plateau,stall, ect. Its not losing Inches and pounds for a least 4 weeks. you carb loaded so you gained tons of water weight, and even if the sticks are turning purple, it means you are burning fat, may or may not be body fat.

      Stick with it, exercise, and follow the plan...and that sir is the road to success.
