Can someone tell me why the carb count on the front of the Atkins snack bars say for example 2g net atkins count and the nutrition label reads 17g carbs, 8g fiber. If you do the math it should be 9g net carbs. I'm a little confused on how to count this as a snack and if it can be used as a meal If I am not hungry at lunch or breakfast.

Re: Atkins Snack Bars
First you need to look at the list of ingredients on the bars to decide for yourself which phase of induction they are 'legal' for.
No matter what it says on the packet, bars which contain nuts, seeds, fruit, flour or starches are NOT allowed on induction as some of their ingredients are not allowed till you reach the correct rung of the second phase of Atkins (OWL).
After doing that you need to decide for yourself whether you are going to allow sugar alcohols (SA's) a place in your way of eating.
Here are some links to helpful info to allow you to decide.
'What are Sugar Alcohols?'
'Do I count or deduct SA carbs?'
The Atkins company website used to have a whole page discussing the fact that many people find that using the SA sweetened products and other 'lowcarb' foods which ended up with the advice - if they cause you to stall or put weight on drop them. So it is your choice
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
