  • flipping out!!!

Hi everyone! I have been on the induction phase for three weeks now and i thought i was doing an awesome job. I truly havent cheated with the "bad carbs" and have stuck with the foods that are acceptable throughout the induction phase, but i have only lost 5 lbs. What is that all about? I am so upset and completely discouranged!! What am i doing wrong? I suppose i better start kicking some booty with cardio, but i truly thought i would've taken off far more weight then i have. I want to throw in the towel, but i've really devoted myself to getting this weight off. Help!!

    Frustrated!

thank you! I need the positive input. Its just incredibly frustrating. I weigh 219, my goal weight is 150. I really wanted to lose a substantial amount of weight by early May for the christening of two of my kids. (out of town company/friends coming in)

suz, everyone loses at a different pace. age, sex, metabolism, exercise, water intake, and on and on make everyone different.

you say you didn't cheat with the "bad carbs" but did you overdo the allowable ones? did you indeed drink the water you needed? did you add caffeine or overdo sweetners? did you eat salty foods?

Jim, to be quite honest with you and myself, i'm not real sure about overduing the allowable carbs. I mean, i ate salads, but they certainly weren't what i would call 'small'. I did NOT drink the water that i was supposed to. I drank fresh brewed ice tea more then the water. So, in that respect, i suppose i wasnt doing exactly what i should've been doing, huh? I just thought, that deleting the flours, starches, and the "bad carbs", i would've lost quite a bit of weight. I guess i better rethink things before i put them in my mouth,. UGH!!!
          Thanks for helping,,,i need it!

You are doing really well! Just stay on track, and don't let the scale get you down. That number isn't the only measure of progress. You may be losing inches as well. But even if you're not losing anything apparent, your body is still thanking you and it will catch up!

beck, i sure hope youre right!!! I guess i've always been the type of person who looks for instant results,,instant gratification,,especially when it comes to dieting.

                Re: flipping out!!!

I am feeling the same way.....but I don't even have the scale to weigh on.....
I jumped on my friends scale this morning and it said I lost 8 pounds from what I weighed in the doctors office 2 weeks and 2 days ago....
I'm watching what I'm eating....drinking so much water I feel I'm going to float away and walking 2 miles each evening....

I know I didn't put this weight on overnight and it will take time to take it off, but as encouraging as all those before and pictures are....I wonder what I'm doing wrong when I "only" lose 8 pounds in two weeks...and two days...

That is exactly the way im feeling. Its so nice to know that i'm not alone. It is encouraging looking at all the before and after pics, but i truly wonder if i will ever have a before and a\fter result like so many of the others. I am so proud of you for the walking. I have no excuse about the excercise part of all this...,i just need to MOVE!

                    Re: flipping out!!!

8 lbs in 2 weeks is awesome! I would love to go back to losing that much that fast. In the OWL I have slowed down to 2 lbs a week maybe! And i am happy with that.

                      Re: flipping out!!!

Its about three weeks now. Not the first two. The first week i lost five pounds and since then, even still doing the induction, i've lost so little. I haven't given up, but to be honest with you, it sure would be easy to go back to my old ways,,,,especially when im frustrated and bummed out.

Just stick with it and i promise you won't regret it. Sometimes i don't lose anything for a week or even two, the swoosh the fairy visits and I lose like 5 lbs over night. Keep your eye on that final prize, you will succeed!

lost 9 pounds by day 20 of my extended induction. I'm going to cut out the Edge shakes and Crystal light. That may help me. Also, I need more fiber :: Never give up and I'm here for ya!
