  • Bad bad day.....

    I'm having a bad day I pulled out the measuring tape and I don't see any difference!! what the h#ll! I'm trying so hard to do this right. I've stuck to the atkins plan, I've exercised, I've put my heart and soul into this and I am not seeing any changes.

    this board is my main source of support. I really don't want to tell anyone I'm on a "diet" or trying to lose...otherwise everyone seems to know what is best for me URGH!!

    ....and I know my partner is trying to be supportive but it's up to me to decide what I want to eat and it's up to me to say NO to tortillas or bread or WHATEVER....I am a big girl.

    Thanks for letting me vent...gotta go clean the tammy faye streaks from my face now.

    Hi Thumper...cute avatar, btw. You didn't give a lot of info on time frames or progress to date or how far into the process you are so it's tough to be helpful other than a generic "chin up and keep slugging" kind of message.

    Maybe post your menu/activities on the appropriate subforums here and let the support staff/members analyze them a bit for you?

    Either way...chin up..it's a marathon not a sprint. (told ya it was comin'...lol)

      I know...maybe it's the weather, the moon, the sun...the impending birthday party...
      I started atkins on 1/3/07...haven't "officially" weighed yet...going to do that on the 16th of Feb.
      I think I'll keep a journal of food...I must be doing something wrong....
      and I know I need to step up a notch on the exercising (walking about 2 miles a night)

        Try Fitday.com or one of the similar free programs. I still use mine even at this point in the journey. It's a combo friend/conscience and can be a powerful tool to help you track your %'s and get everything lined up as well as possible!

          Hey thumper don't give up yet. Just remember your body is made to hold on to fat. Letting it go is totally foreign to it. Just give it time.

          Look at what you have accomplished.

          Regular exercise = was it a part of your life before? If not you have just added years to your life.

          Good eating = did you eat your veggies regularly? If not you have just added good nutrition to your life.

          Keep it up.

            Good luck, do the best that you can . This is my 3rd try, never really making it past day 7 or 8. I started 01.08.07. I haven't had any candy, that's my weakness. I haven't had any vodka, brandy, beer, that's my weekness. I'm basically pretty weak when it comes to my trigger foods. Anyway, try to stick with it. Since I've started for the 3rd time. I've been really strong, never giving in to my candy fix.

            I lost 5 pounds during induction, but I'm not worried that it was 5 pounds. It's 5 pounds that I ddn't gain.

            Good luck and keep posting here. Everyone is very supportive and understanding.
