  • 27 days and holding

    I started this journey on the 1st day of January and I have lost a total of 17 lbs. I weighed today and it seems like I am stuck. I still have been eating just eggs, meat, and cheese. I dont have the cravings for any of the bread, pasta, rice, or potatoes. I was just wondering has anyone else stalled after the first three weeks and if you did will it start coming off again?

    Where are your veggies? You really do need to eat your 3 cups of veggies each day! It's not unusual at all for you to drop weight and then stay there for a little bit while your body adjusts before it starts dropping weight again. It's a little different for everyone...but for me, when the scale is NOT moving is when I notice that my size changes. Having done other eating plans (low-fat, low-cal) I think that this is something that is even more noticable on Atkins. Congrats on the 17 pounds! And I know I will sound like a broken record here...but eat your VEGGIES and begin to move up the OWL rungs. You'll be glad you did!

      I would reiterate what kylie said about veggies. You need to eat them. This plan is not about no carb, but low regulated carbs back into your system. Even during Induction you should eat the recommended 6 servings (3 cups) of veggies per day. It is quite normal for weight loss to slow down or temporarily stop during week 3 and 4 as the body readjusts to the new energy methods. Keep following the plan as prescribed and the weight loss will resume shortly.

        Veggies are a true necessity. You need those vits and mins! And the more you eat the more you'll begin to get hooked on them.

          More liquids as well, and some exercise (or a different variety), will help the scale twitch.

              That is GREAT!!!! Totally awesome.

              I am on week 6 of induction......I have not weighed since my first day of this WOL. I can tell by my clothes and the way my body feels and for now that is enough. I have a lot to lose so no since driving myself crazy this fast. I do use those wonderful strips and purple has become my favorite color!!! LOL
