  • Positive News so far I think?!

    Hi all,

    Started Atkins Induction on Jan 1st (like many I suspect!)

    Week 1 220 lbs
    Week 2 211 lbs
    week 3 208 lbs
    Week 4 205 lbs
    Week 5 201 lbs

    At the moment then, I am losing 3 pounds a week.

    My target weight is 188 lbs. So, I figure maybe another 4 weeks. Having said that, I suppose I may stall before then for a bit.

    Is it likely that I won't keep up the 3 pounds a week loss?

    Great results!! Generally speaking, as you near your goal, the weight loss will slow - but each person is different, so there is no way to predict what will happen...Just keep working the program and you WILL reach your goal!

      Hey, "great job" from a fellow New Years person. My loss slowed dramatically after induction, but I'm still losing little bits here and there and I'm okay with that. I'm learning patience, lol!

        With your goal weight approaching, you should move to the On-Going Weight Loss Phase. The BIGGEST mistake people make is staying on Induction phase to the end. And then they're lost because they haven't learned how to eat in order to maintain their weight. Then we see them back here in 1 or 2 years weighing as much or more than they did the first time they did Atkins.....

            Great Job - Not2Late is giving you great advise. This has to be about teaching ourselves how not to get back in the same (or worse) position in the future.

              Officially Re-Focusing on 12-28-09.

              Was, Am, Will be: 280/222/175ish.
              Started Dec 2005 and lost 105 lbs by mid 2006, maintained loss for the most part until 2009...then really let go & gained some back... lol

              so:
              Restart Progress:
              12/28/09 ~ 235.1
              01/04/10 ~ 229.0
              01/11/10 ~ 229.0 Grrrrr....
              (Induction= only 6lbs but lost 10 inches! yay)
              01/18/10 ~ 227.4
              01/5/10 ~ 226.8
              02/01/10 ~ 222.6

                thamks for all your advice.

                Exercise is really helping, running 5k 3-4 night a week.

                I have been strict, but really am a veggie hater. I eat carrots, green beans, peas and sweet potato. normally. All other green veggies I hate! I know, bad!

                Beansprouts, gree and red peppers and lettuce have been my staple veggies on the diet.

                Lots of Tuna, meats, eggs, cheese as well.

                  Megs is absolutely right... think about moving to OWL so you can learn about how foods affect you. It's the key to successful maintenance.

                    What is very funny is that one day you can weight 3lbs less than the day before!

                    I don't weigh myself normally more than once a week, but a couple of times I have done it I have lost 3lb ib 24 hours?!! Whats all that about! LOL

                      Why dont you join one of the exercise challenges??? They keep you really motivated, plus you get to meet some great people.

                        Been swimming for 30 mins hard today and run 8k.

                        Lost another 3 lbs last week.

                        Very precise that I am losing 3lb every week for last 5.
