  • Fiber Question

I have been taking 1 tsp of psyllium husk fiber laxative per day (sugar free) and I like the resulting regularity.

Is it recommended only to take fiber as necessary or is it ok during extended induction to take every day?

Also, can this cause a stall in some?

I am relatively new to this, but we should count NET carbs, correct? Because the fiber contains about 5g of carb per seving even though it is sugar free.

    thanks

    Re: Fiber Question

Not 100% sure on the first question, but as for the second...yes you only count net carbs...if there are 5g of fiber you subtract 5 from the total carbohydrates.

    Best of luck!

      Re: Fiber Question

Difficult to say about psyllium stalling people... people react so very differently to different foods. See how you go, after a week or so. I've never heard anyone having issues with it though.
It should be alright to take every day I'd have thought (though only as much as necessary, no more, in induction). I'm only familiar with the actual husks, as I can't get any other kind over here though.
Hopefully someone better informed than I am will be along to advise.
