  • update on progress

Today I went to the Dr. to see what my official weight loss for the past 6 weeks has been and it is 14 lbs.
I really wanted to hit goal of 18 lbs, that just means I need to lose 23 lbs in the next 6 weeks I guess.
Anyway...just wanted to keep everyone up to date.

Dont feel too hard on yourself, the less you have to lose the slower it will come off. You have done really well so far, keep up the good work.

Sorry I misread your ticker, I though that your goal weight was 115 and that you were just 14lbs away. Please forgive me.

Hang in there, Thumper! We didn't put that weight on overnight, we won't lose it all overnight.
I didn't make my Feb. 1st. mini-goal either, but I've learned to shrug off the little things, and stay on track, no matter what.
Think where you will be a month from now!

Thumper, don't be discouraged. Be proud of those 14 pounds! Those are 14 pounds you'll never see again!!!

It is almost impossible to lose a certain magical number of pounds by a certain date. Weight loss is not linear, and often we get smaller but the scale doesn't reflect that! What I do to combat this is have sort of "open-ended" minigoals of reaching a certain weight, and I just record the date when I reach it. That way I don't force my body into a certain time frame of weight loss. It just happens when it will happen, and I celebrate the day that it does!

Great job on 14lbs!! That's really something to be proud of. Keep working the Atkins and you'll be gone with that weight in no time!!

                  Re: update on progress

I think, it's a great idea to set mini-goals, but don't attach a date to them. There's no way to predict how fast you are going to lose weight and you'll just be setting yourself up for disappointment even if you do good.
